Aley is pretty much like Metn. We can do miracles there. All it needs is a little bit of attention. Why should Metn for example get more attention than Aley from FPM (media-wise and political-wise). I just can't understand!
Why should a lot of FPMers laugh when we say "Aley" like telling us: "are you serious guys? you should be joking..."
We don't need anybody over there! We don't even need "known" figures or activists! All we need is a good incomplete FPM list including candidates from all sects and a little bit of on-ground campaigning and believe me we can do miracles.
We don't need Erslen (I guess Micho Mouawad is better in Zgharta than this person is in Aley!). The problem is that the FPM founding mass in Aley was completely sect-blinded! They were worse than Geageaists in what relates to that matter! We had a great potential to grow in Druze-majority villages and get to create real social reconciliation over there, but those were not targeted and when I tried, I was looked at like being asked: "are you stupid or what? wa7ad bi ballich yzabbit bayto ba3den bi rou7 3end el tenyin". Eh tfeh w 600 tfeh 3ala hek 3alam eza 3a chkeleton baddo ykoun el tayyar!
Now it's not time to CONSIDER what I am saying here but it's always good to KNOW!
No matter what happens this year in Aley, we have to make the best result we can with what's available now! We need to support our lists fully in order to gain some good momentum to make the real change that we believe in in 2013 or 2017!
We have to make the best results, not for the sake of 2009, but for the sake of 2013 and 2017 at least! |
This is a very true statement.. I've encountered many FPMers from aley
especially from ke7eleh and they are
extremelysectarian. Ke7eleh is pure
FPM and still looks very isolated socially from the surrounding villages.
These people arent over what happened during
the civil war and have a lot of hatred towards the druze for their actions prior and
after october 13 1990. I do feel for them as each family has at least one
martyr from the army and their women are still wearing black. They are in
constant fear and this is a real social crisis. I hope we didnt sink too deep in
the well of dirty lebanese politics and tackle the main issues we are facing
starting from the mentality of some FPMers,we have to think about the
future as you said.
