A list in Aley has 2 Druze, 2 Maronites and 1 Orthodox.
The druze winners will be Akram Chehayyeb and Talal Erslen. The battle remain on the 3 Christian seats.
On the loyalists's list the candidates will be: Henri Helou (Maronite-Jumblat), Fouad Saad (Maronite-Jumblat), Fady Haber (Orthodox Kataeb).
On the opposition's list: Marwan Abou Fadel (Orthodox-Irslan) and 2 Maronites to be named by FPM.
My predictions to the Aley battle:
- The 2 Maronites on the loyalists' list will win for sure. The Druze bloc will select them for sure especially that they are Jumblatists.
- Concerning the Orthodox seat, we all know how Jumblat is repositionning and building bridges with Irslen, Berri, HA and Syria. We also know how Fady Haber (Kataeb) was imposed on Jumblat instead of Andraos. Jumblat may want to revenge or at least be careless about this seat especially that the candidate on the other list isn't a FPMer who will provoke and bother him but an Irslen guy. So if Jumblat doesn't give clear instructions to his bloc on how to vote for the Orthodox seat, I see Abou Fadel with good chances to make it.
The day FPM understands it can lead alone a battle in Aley and win it is the day it will start getting close to victory!
FPM needs nobody in Aley. Even worse, everyone FPM gets from the past (such as Erslan or whoever) repells people more and more away from their desire for change!
People in Aley would love FPM to initiate something new and lead a hard battle on ground!
