what's the real difference between having a government and not having a government in lebanon ?

lebanon stands in front of political crisis , 17 years after what was called parliamentary elections, and still there is "no" government although a prime minister was already appointed ... so sad but so true

We are hearing a lot of talking that a war may break out anytime now, will the presence of a government or the non presence of government make any difference?

Was just thinking about it lol, do people get what they deserve?? In this case it is quite proper that Hariri keeps robbing them?

There is a slim majority who doesnt even deserve Hariri, since they keep reelecting thieves and criminals. But what about the others? Who are forced to suffer? I know what Hariri would answer for that, you can always emigrate if you dont like it. He himself comes also just for vacations.

What more do you expect?

I mean, they call Geagea Dr, even though he dropped out. Someone explain how is he qualified? What qualifications? Partial completion doesn't qualify someone for a title.

So can I assume if I am halfway thru an engineering course, but dropped out coz i had to find a job to help with my families finances, I write on my resume I am an engineer?? Why would anyone go to uni and complete the course.

Everyone, just apply to uni. Attend 1 year and drop out. And bingo, your qualified and a hakim :)

Only in ouwet class 101 would this happen.

Now many scenarios are at stake:

In your opinion, should Hariri form a government alone with his allies without the opposition in it, i.e. no national unity government? Will he be able to do it? sidelining again 2 major sects in Lebanon? And if he succeeds to form such a one coloured government, do you think it will lead again to another 7th of May war? Will there be another sit in in downtown? Will Beirut find itself injured again?

Those are all unanswered questions, I would like to know what each one of you think about it. Please keep the debate respectful, and state your opinion freely.
The problem is that the so called "14Th March" movement has no political program. The coalition is so divided (freedom, sovereignity etc. is nothing but a slogan for some marketing purpose) that they're not able to find any common ground.

Even with 100 MPs, they still wouldn't be able to form a government.

What's happening is nothing but another typical lebanese political show. It reminds me the good old time of the syrian occupation. Same politicians - all of them pro-syrians back then - reproducing today the same ridiculous play. Fighting each other and waiting for the referee's (Syria) intervention...

Lucky there was wilayat el fakih for the elections and there is FPM and Gebran Bassil for the government formation so that they managed at least to create a scapegoat to feed their fan-club.

But once again, people had the choice : giving a chance to those who were saying change & reform, or voting for the continuation of the happy lebanese mazra'a. Too bad we lost another 4 years (though, we pretend we're not happy but may be the majority of the lebanese are currently happy with this situation ?)
