Default 3 months and still no government - 11th September 2009

Once again Lebanon stands in front of political crisis, 3 months after what was called the 2009 parliamentary elections, and still there is no government although a prime minister was already appointed.

Now many scenarios are at stake:

In your opinion, should Hariri form a government alone with his allies without the opposition in it, i.e. no national unity government? Will he be able to do it? sidelining again 2 major sects in Lebanon? And if he succeeds to form such a one coloured government, do you think it will lead again to another 7th of May war? Will there be another sit in in downtown? Will Beirut find itself injured again?

Those are all unanswered questions, I would like to know what each one of you think about it. Please keep the debate respectful, and state your opinion freely.

There will be no 7okomi sidelining two major sects in Lebanon. We will not let them rule and turn this country into a kingdom. We will fight against wilayit al-fakih as well if the threat arises. We will fight against the Israeli influence..

Do you think that Sa3d Hariri is able to form a so called march 14 alone government? If yes, why didn't he do it already?

People should go down the streets and protest against such politicians as a whole.

He wont simply because he cant.
He is a spoiled little brat who when in a tight corner reverts back to instigation of secular feelings. what the little kid forgets,is that the shi3a and the Christians can do the same thing. We will not become strangers in our own country . There are 800000 thousand people that voted for 8th of march and those are the power that drive mo3arada politicians.
My two cents to Harriri

Bring it on

This will never ever happens ull see. The problem with hariri is not berri nor HA. It is GMA!!!!!!!! This is why he tried to form the government without GMA being in lebanon.

سعد الحريري: "في حال وجود حكومة او لا فهناك محكمة دولية قائمة ولن نفرط بشهدائنا".

Please explain how he would be sidelining 2 sects? First of all no one wants to exclude the major parties. Giving the opposition minister positions is a given. The only debate is the 1/3 or not. Secondly, even if he makes a govt of only M-14, do you consider yourself more Christian than the Christians of LF, Kataeb, .... Does HA consider himself more Shia than Okab Sakr and Basem el Sabe3? No one is sidelining any sect. If M8 had won the elections, most Christian ministers should've been FPM'ers and most Shia ministers should've been HA. No one would've objected. M14 leaders said that before the elections.

And how many people do Okab Saqr and Basem el Sabe3 Really represent ?
14 March can't form a Government alone, it just won't work, and will put them again in a more fierce conflict with the bigger half of the Lebanese population.
There's no way to bypass GMA or the opposition in any government formation so why did Saad apologize when he knows there's no way out from reaching a settlement ? Even if they assign him again, then what? He's gonna have to negotiate with GMA from square 1, GMS is not in a situation that allows him to sign a 1 Sided government conduct. Saad can't form a government alone although he'd love to, If he cares so much about Lebanon how come everytime things get tough he quits like a baby ? What happened to all the talk and slogans about determination to reach a formula that everyone approves ? Whatever happened to Saniora screaming Saad lan yastakeel outloud then all of a sudden he's out.

Everyone knows that Bassiel did a great job on the Ministry of Communications why not let him keep doing progress, they would be first to pick him up if he was a dumb lazy minister. Just like you assume GMA is stopping the entire government formation just to hire Bassiel we think you are reserving the communications ministry la damm el shaheed but in depth for the khaskhassa, isn't that considered Masali7 Shakhsieh too ? Ot is it all about the media propaganda and how they approach things.
