let the FPM leadership designate an account or modus operandi and start officially asking for elction purposes war chest
and i for once will not only pay , but ask all my friends to also pay.
i think the payments can be made anonymous or with a name if the person wishes so.
yalla let us start by posting on the Forum like we did for the new site expenses.
and have a ticker to record donations and pledges
also OTV should do a weekly tv marathon fund , where known FPMers and supporters from the media business and political field will be live on tv accepting donations and pledges.
it is done all over the world and this will be a first and a democratic way of raising funds.

I am not so sure you can make direct contributions from the US without exposing yourself legally to this marvelous free speech wonder:

That said it is not illegal to transfer money to your own account to Lebanon. Past that point, your money is in a black hole with respect to the US administration.

That could lead to the closing of OTV... it would show OTV clearly taking a side, which is supposed to be illegal...

A TV station is supposed to be neutral and unbiased.... They shouldn't favor one candidate on an other (at least not directly).
And yes, I think there is a law on that matter...

Yeah, keep OTV out of this.

They can air ad "advertisement" paid by tayyar for donations, but not organise themselves the donations!

good idea, but do you have an idea what would the elections cost? so how much is the minimum we should pay each month?

second: there are quiet rich Deputies , so they should pay for their campaign in advance. some of them don't have cash but have properties so they should manage and pay ,

maybe a sub-section on tayyar.org should be created.

Something like elections.tayyar.org and have the website tailored similar to Obama's campaign website Barack Obama | Change We Can Believe In | Home

there should be information on how to donate, how to get your electoral card, where and how to volunteer...

Here is what we can do (in case their was a demand by the members):

We can setup a donations account by the name of The Orange Room, we will collect the donations now and hand it to FPM before the elections by the name of "The Orange Room Members Donations to FPM Elections Campaign"
