Check your interest speed on Speedtest.net and post your results here just to take an idea of the actual speed DSL providers are offering.
I have a 1mbps/256kbps DSL connection with IDM and here are my results:
Obviously my Ping rates are very high and will obviously cause a small delay in instantly opening sites and another delay in online gaming.
The actual upload speed is also half that of the declared one.
The download speed isn't bad.
