A word of advice. Expect it to be really heavy. Its a serious matter if youll be loaring it around from place to place. I would go with a 15' model, much less of a nuissance.

expect it to be heavy , especially because it needs a really big battery
and don't expect much battery life
it's a gaming laptop , with great speakers
so if you are planning to game only this is your laptop , if not , ma tjibo
not portable at all , it's a desktop replacement
or u can think about it this way , it's a desktop bas ma byekhoud space ad usual desktops LOL

if u are in lebanon i doubt you can find it for 1700$ .....

Get yourself this you can't beat the price, and it has most options a laptop needs, ya3ni battery life, not heavy and doesn't get hot.
If you want a gaming machine get a desktop.

I am not concerned with battery life and weight

It's thick, huge and Heavy, I didnt like it. With Similar specs, you could go for Sony Vaio for about 1350$ in ABC, or the new Dell for about 1200$ 3al 3azareyye. That's what I'm going to do next week nshalla, still lost between the two though.

baddak tshouf the video card in each of these 2
ye3neh it's the main reason of the prices of a qosmio
i bought my HP dv5 for 1350$ because of the geforce 9600
law ken baddeh a intel grafic accelerator , that would mean 800-900$ same specs
as for sonys , they are really over priced
there's no brand better than the other just compare the specs and prices well

One more vote for desktops.
I used to have a 17inch DELL, I got it for gaming and watching movies. The poor laptop didn't see the outside world since it was heavy and I was lazy to carry it around. While traveling, I used to end up with pain in my back and shoulders. The ideal choice is to get a gaming desktop and a small 13.3 or 14.1 laptop for mobility.
Anyway that depends on your situation, if you live somewhere beside your home and there's no place for a desktop, a gaming laptop is the only choice. Get a DELL, I've had mine since 2005 and I never experienced any hardware problem, except for the battery after 2.5 years. Personally, I would never buy any toshiba product after my experience with a laptop I bought in 2001

yea my main guess is that they have a non-dedicated (or a poor one) VGA card, the main reason i am getting this beast is for the GeForce® 9800M GTS
