I mean what are the steps that I should be going through to select a specific item from Amazon and inform Aramex about it in order to ship to Lebanon?

Thx in advance!

1. You open a mailbox in the US with Aramex (one time fee: 35 $)

2. You start listing that mailbox for shopping from Amazon

3. Your product arrives in the mailbox then is forwarded (shipped) to Lebanon, it usually takes 3 to 5 days, a fee is calculated based on weight

0.5 Kg will cost you 8.5 $

Every 0.5 Kg above that will cost you 6.5 $

Hope that helps, for more info call Aramex/Shop&Ship Beirut Office:

To what extent is this service considered safe from your personal experience? And if it is significantly safe, why do Lebanese people stick to buying imported electronic stuff that seems to be a lot more expensive than in other countries?

Well you also pay VAT and Customs depending on the type of product you ship. Thats what i do with Netshopper.
Dry Ice are u sure its only the weight you pay for? I would love to hear your confirmation on this.

Thanks

Well I just checked Aramex's site thoroughly since I was considering buying my next 360 from Amazon thinking it was cheaper than buying it from a local store here in Lebanon.

After realizing that the Xbox 360's Arcade sealed weight is around 6.5 kg, the shipping turned out to charge around an extra $90 on the $280 (being the 360's price on Amazon). So 280 + 90 = $ 370. Thus buying from Amazon and shipping to Leb didn't help with this product since you can find a Premium 360 at Virgin here in Leb for $450 which fills out the gap of $80 being the difference btw the price of an arcade and premium.

I guess I'm going to have to buy it from the Gulf then.

I haven't used this system in Lebanon, so I can't tell you for sure if that is the case..

Well Shop&Ship is mostly useful for books (0.5 to 1 Kg) in addition for items that sellers won't ship overseas from the US... In your case (heavier item), the better deal would be to get it from the region, plus you might benefit from the warranty, which I am not sure that you could use if you buy the product from Amazon..

Safe? As safe as dealing with a company like Aramex... there are some who mentioned negative experiences, however I have never had anything stolen or lost with them..
