The one not available should do the trick, it says linux based but it is not available. As long as it is linux based you should have no problems, you see because Linux is released under the GNU General Public License, or GPL, the terms of the license obliged Linksys to make available the source code to the WRT54G firmware. As most router firmware is proprietary code, vendors have no such obligation. It remains unclear whether Linksys was aware of the WRT54G’s Linux lineage, and its associated source requirements, at the time they released the router. But ultimately, under outside pressure to deliver on their legal obligation under the GPL, Linksys open sourced the WRT54G firmware in July 2003.
Bottom line if linksys do not want you to change the firmware they will make the router non linux based but if it is made linux based after 2003 it means it is released this time knowingly under the GPL, then it should be customizable and you can flash the firmware. I bought mine in 2005 and it was still linux based. I don't know how they are made in 2009, but if it says linux based you're good.
