Icon5 Content encoding error - 15th November 2009

I've been trying to open the forum between 6 pm and 10 pm tonight with no success. My connection was fast. And i've been getting the following message:

Content encoding error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

Can anybody explains what it means and why i was receiving such a message? was it because there was too much traffic on the forum?

Thankyou

Well was it offline for you??? it doesn't seem so... if it was being updated or fixed, nobody would have been able to post. Clearly it wasn't the case, so why was it happening on my PC and everyone else's in the house?? (i have OGERO dsl)

I believe Ogero has nothing to do with this. Probably it was problem with the usernames in the database. Some users were able to access the website and others not. This is the only thing I can think of.

You can find that mini HP with atom processor for much less than that, I think I saw it at around 350$ or a bit less even.

It worked all by itself after some time or you did something?
This is a cookie or auth-key issue, generally something between your computer and the database being corrupted; normally clearing all cookies and cache fixes the issue.

I am currently in Botswana (clearly not using ogero) and I got the same error as you did and at the same time... it worked later on by itself. I usually get this error from time to time

It worked all by itself and it's the first time something like this happens. I guess you're right about the reason, it must be a database problem. I'll try your solution though next time it happens
