Sony eSupport - DSC-W70 - Software Updates & Drivers

Next time try to expand a bit on the title...for a moment we thought you were being "probed" from the rear by Aliens.

Default weird thing considering my network card - 4th October 2009

when i plug the internet cable in my desktop it works but on my laptop it doesn't work anymore (this just happened) , it's giving me that the network cable is unplugged
in order to make the internet work on my laptop i changed the mac address of the network card on my laptop and set it exactly like the one on the desktop so i can use the internet on both desktop and laptop , because before that it was giving me an error (wich is probably irrelevent but i am writing it anyway)
but it never used to show me that the cable is unplugged .......
ye3neh bshekko bel desktop bidawweh bas bel laptop la2
anyone has a clue ?? because i cant find any logical reason for that (other than the network card on the laptop is not working , wich is not true)
btw i think that this happened only once before and it worked again after a reboot

Try to disable and enable to network card from the device manager, it could be that the card is also disabled from the network connections in the control panel, check that too...

Yeah it used to happen to me. What I used to do is go to Start->connect to-> show all connections and refresh the list of adapters.. Windows acts weird sometimes.. actually most of the time.

check with your ISP man, it seems like a classic case of pain in the *** ISP's setting MAC address policies on their servers. he has enabled settings on his server for your connection to work with only a single MAC address, it being the one of the machine his server was connected to at the moment of enabling.
you can try complaining to your ISP, but most of them are "censored" anyways, i would suggest you get a wireless router, give the ISP a ring, give him a piece of your mind and tell him to reset his setting to the MAC of the router (alternatively if you don't want to hear his voice just change the MAC of the router to that of the desktop)
then you can pull out as many cables and wireless connections as you want from your router.

I did that 3 years ago with VISP, they think they are smart@ss, just clone the mac address from your Desktop PC to the router and set it up to your connection and live in heaven

Cisco catalysts have this option which automatically shuts down the interface if another MAC is plugged in.
