As for the XBox vs PS3 matter, I think everyone has his own preferences. But technically speaking, the PS3 is more advanced with mainly the built-in WiFi and Bluetooth support, and most importantly the next generation Blu-ray Disk. But for gamers, the main criteria is the game catalog, which is IMHO a personal preference.

Most probably there will be dedicated servers unlike COD 4 and COD WaW. So basically it won't matter if the host is hosting the game from Lebanon or Zimbabwe.
