Default Problem: Screen turning OFF - 1st March 2007

all at a sudden when my pc is on for some time the screen turns off and wouldn't turn back on unless i reboot my system.
i thought it can be a virus, bt i scanned my computer with mcafee and kaspersky but the problem is still occuring..
anyone of u knows abt this?

yeah! sometimes that happens with me too.

any possible reason for it? i don't think it's a virus thingy. maybe a fluctuation of power or loose power wires or something.

i used to leave my pc turned on whole nights and days and now i only leave it for an hour or two to come back and see the malfunction

Try testing in safe mode and let me know if the problem persists

the problem is with the vga driver, just log in in safe mode, uninstall the Vga driver then install it and the problem will disappear.

if u dont know how to do that just inform us.

I'll try ur tip tonight.

i have a built-in vga, and i don't think i have the driver installed ,it was automatically done bt i'll try to find the motherboard cd and install it again.

but weird, i never faced this problem before...

most VGa driver are found automatically in Windows XP, dont worry 99% that this is the problem and it happens for no reason, just driver failure.

Thats not true

Windows XP has only VGA drivers for Video cards that has released before XP released. Windows XP doesn't have any drivers for newer video cards.
