Dont exaggerate. You dont need 5000 bucks for a pc. A cool K will suffice to run any game on a high resolution and good detail. Thats about 200$ less than what you would pay if you had to fork out 400$ worth a console plus the 800$ for the HD tv.

You want to argue that the hd tv isnt necessary? Well i can argue that since graphic quality isnt an issue, you can build a 600$ pc that will also run any game but albeit at a lower resolution and detail. Voila.

$1000-$1200 custom Built computer (not including monitor) is enough to destroy PS3 in graphics quality.

You should also take into consideration that Computers can be used for many other things other than gaming

i used to play games on pc since 1994 since the days of doom 2 and heretic and fifa 94, last year which is 2008 i decided to switch from PC's after buying 4 pc's to PS3, and i guess i have made the right choice.

- A pc that will cost u now 1200$ will play u the games now, but who ever says it will last 2 years and still playing games on maximum or high graphics is lying. i bought many pc's with high end VGA's i used to spend on a Vga alone around 500$, and it only used to last 2 years, then i have to buy another one, or i should play the game on inferior resolution or medium graphics which i hate to do cuz i wont be enjoying the graphics of the game.

- Also why spending alot on a pc that doesnt even have the variety of a ps3 or console, all i can see on PC's are boring strategy games like Total rome and Dota and bla bla which i dont even care about, the only decent game in term of graphics is Crysis. while on Ps3 u get Next gen sports game like FIFA, NBA, Fight night, and many fighting games which arent on PC, in addition to games like uncharted 2 , MGS 4, kz2 ,God of war etc....
can any PC gamer here give me a list of any exclusive game on PC this year ?

and about the ppl saying that PC will blow the ps3 in graphics, ok u are right a high end pc will do that , but i must say on what ? where? on which game ?? on total rome ?? or Empire age?? also i dont care for very high resolution because 720p or 1080p is more than enough for a game now , i prefer playin Uncharted 2 on 720p with great graphics rather than playing company of heroes or those games on very high resolutions.

so why spending 2000$ on a pc , and yes in my opinion a pc that will last more than 2 years will cost u 2000$ , not 1000$ and 1200$ which will last u a maximum of 2 years, and for playing what games ?? im not being a fanboy just because i have a ps3 , i used to be a pc gamer and i switched because i found it better as a customer, ps3 have a wide variety of games and will last u at least 4 to 5 years, and about the HD tv which will cost u 800$, well 1200$ for a ps3 is much better also than a pc, because playing on an Full Hd 32 inch LCD Sony V series with a contrast ratio of 33000:1 can beat any Pc screen which will cost u same or even more.

An 8800 of 3 years back will still let you play most games on med-high settings.

That is relative to your taste. For i personally find all the sports games you just mentioned to be pointless and nothing short than drabby.

Hah a 32inch full HD will cost you upwards of 1800$, thats for the tv alone

Thats half HD. You dont get full hd for 800$ with a 32inch, thats common knowledge.

having a 1920x1080 resolution no 32 inch is impossible ? why is that ? can u explain to me.

im not saying they are exclusive, but have u seen FIFA , NBA, fight night round 4, Tekken, virtua fighter which are on PS3 and xbox only ???

u still have the same fifa of the ps2 or i should say a modified version, no fight night , and old gen NBA, even street fighter took 5 months more than consoles to go out on PC.

$1200 is 4 times more than $300 and 3 times more than $400... With 800$ I can fly to Europe and back.
You guys have to compare apples to apples and everything has a price you have to compare quality/price not quality to quality forgetting about the price.

but it makes sense strategy games are good with mouse and keyboard, they suck at consoles while a sports game is great on TV sitting on your couch, for each its use, but i am not ready to ditch $2500 to play a strategy game when i can get a PC for $500. If I want to play a game there are great non strategy games that I can play on a console. Those who insist they want to play strategy games and have a lot of money to spare can buy a PC yesteflou but they can't come and tell me that they have much better specs than a console, of course they do, they paid $2,500.

So to some up your point: (Quality/$: the console wins) (Quality regardless of the $: the PC wins)

I think that the PC wins on both sides, because the PC is not only a gaming machine, it is much more than that... The price will not reach $2500, a gaming PC price will not exceed $1500 (including the screen) unless if you are using two graphic cards, expensive thermal take case, solid state disks, or water cooling... In another words, the price of a gaming PC will not go over $1500 unless you wanted that.
