I used to have a Blackberry, and recently I got the E71. The Nokia E71 is by far much better than the Blackberry.

Nokia has for sure excellent smartphones (I am a Nokia fan myself) but for business customers, Blackberry is leading by far in North America.

I like my E71.. And I love Nokia- I'm faithful to the company. I was checking out the E71 online at the same time the iPhone was finally released here in Canada last summer. I could have gone for the iPhone but the touch screen annoys me. I love that the Nokia E71 keyboard is QWERTY and that it has buttons you can actually press, instead of a screen that just smudges (although there are leather finger condoms available online for the iPhone so that the screen stays clean lol). Also, the previous version of the iPhone was buggy and some people experienced dropped calls or poor reception; since Nokia have been in the cell phone game much longer than Apple, I currently trust Nokia more.. although I'd like to own an iPhone some time in the future, when I know for certain that they no longer have problems with call quality (I think so far the current version (G3) seems to be okay?)

No. The ultimate business solutions device is still the Blackberry, but Nokia is working on getting there with their E series.

Boiler, it would help if you would tell us what kind of features you're looking for in a mobile phone.

I bought it last month, it lasted around 3 days then started freezing; I had it sent for patching or IOS update or whatever, and still the problem wasn't solved; so I sold it back.
Wow, that's really unfortunate :S Mine sometimes freezes when I'm doing too many things at once, but I think that would happen to any phone. Perhaps you could have tried replacing it with a new unit, maybe there was something wrong specifically with the one you had.

Oh there is one big downside to my E71: I can only use the maps feature in the UAE (since I got it in Dubai intl airport). The maps feature doesn't work here, which I find retarded. Also, and this has nothing to do with the device itself, but the data plans in Canada are pretty expensive so I currently just browse the internet on my phone when I'm in a free wifi zone. iPhone users get a more decent data and minutes package, although it's still considered expensive compared to other countries. Cell phone companies in Canada are a mafia.

The turn to mute is a software you can install on the E71 . I have it on NOKIA N95.

My question is , is there a way we can buy the E71 without the arabic font on the pad ?
