wlak why lol
i am still hoping that it might be a vista compatibility issue
I have a rather similar laptop:

core 2 duo 2.5ghz
4gb ram
8600m gs
VISTA

COD4 is unplayable above 800x600 with setting on medium. And i mean when playing mutliplayer not singleplayer. Its vista, ive got a desktop with 3.2ghz, 2gb ram and 6600 vanilla, it runs cod4 on 1024x768 with settings on med perfectly, the only difference is that my desktop has xp. Yeah microsoft basicly crapped on our heads and laughed.

ya, C2D @ 2.2ghz isn't exactly great for games, especially if one is using bloatware vista.

but still, many games should run ok on his laptop, take for instance ur favorite RTS game ever C&C RA3 (hahaha ), it should run great on his laptop.

as for TA Supreme Commander i guess he can enjoy it as a slideshow hehe

Do the graphics of COD 4,5 look much better on a new up-to-date PC graphic card than on a PS3?

i dont know, i don't have a ps3 and i didn't check.

but even if the grafix where ten times better on the ps3, nothing beats using the mouse on the pc to play that game hehe

btw, cod5 is no match for cod4 as far as i am concerned :)

edit : googled it

since i have 1 gb of pc 5300 (should run at 667mhz) (came free as an offer)
and 3 gb of pc 6400 (should run at 800mhz) (original memory)

the having 333 mhz for the pc-5300 and 400mhz for the pc-6400 is normal (forgot to screenshot the infos for the other slot of memory)
i cant change the frequeny , tried google and this is what i got
Vista does not support more than 3GB so your PC-5300 is useless and slowing down your other memory cards.I suggest you put it away.It might not affect your gaming but it will enhance the overall performance.

ya Vista 32-bit can only support 3GB RAM... but Vista 64-bit can support up to a whopping 128GB RAM

xp also does not support more than 3 gb of ram (32 bit version)
but vista 3a ases bye7moul more than 3 lol
anyway , how can i put this pc 5300 away (i suppose there's a way that does not include opening the laptop and removing the memory cz it will void my warranty just 2 years and 363 days before it expires )
