Haven't tried any online game lately. Been playing Fallout 3 on my PS3 and liking every second of it.
As a side note guys, I'm using the wireless connection from IDM (Pesco,
IDM :: Products :: Wireless Broadband).
I'm using this connection for my gaming sessions because it gives me a NAT type 2 connection.
NAT is a kind of firewall that limits the number of ports that are open. Ports are basically gateways to the internet. So, the more the number of ports that are open, the more ways to connect to the internet.
I used to have a DSL connection from IDM which used to give me a NAT type 3 connection.
NAT type 2 means it has all the ports important for the Playstation Network opened. More ports open for the PSN, the more the number of online lobbies and matches I can connect to. Be aware that, opening up ports DOES NOT provide with better lag or better connection. It just that it gives you more chances of finding games and matches. Case in point is Street Fighter 4.
SF4 over the Pesco connection works well; you can easily find matches and play (although they are laggy, an issue I attribute mainly to the net code of SF4 which I hopefully will be fixed with the release of Super Street Fighter 4 next spring).
So, you can check you NAT status on the PS3 by going to the Network Settings and then selecting the network test. On the Xbox 360, I'm not quite familiar but there definitely is a way. Look it up in google or something.
Has anyone checked this out or something?
