i'm thinking of buying a new laptop... I need a laptop for my work, Graphic Design / Animation (Digital Media)

I know most of you will suggest getting a Macintosh machine, but I can't afford it... and no for a normal macbook, macbook pro is a minimum when it comes to mac.

budget is maximum 1200$... what do you suggest?

additional needs:

* NO HEAT! (my laptop's current temperature is around 40*c and is about to burn my hands)

* Huge hard drive(s)

* 4 GB RAM

* Powerful VGA

* Doesn't not explode (VGA) while Rendering is a must

thanks for your help.
I dont think you will be getting a "very good" VGA card with that budget.

With 1200$ you will not get a powerful vga. Here the strongest vga you can get with the least amount of money:

The above VGA card is ranked Class#3, I wouldn't recommend it for gaming/graphic design !

Can you get me any laptop with a reasonable price having better VGA? Again we're talking about laptops and not desktops.

I am getting next week this beast , yea i know it is very heavy and it is not that "mobile" and it IS a desktop replacement, but if you can manage to buy it directly from Toshiba (USA/Canada) with the price mentioned in the website i think it would be a great deal. This laptop plays whatever game you throw at it! It is made for gaming/entertainment (4 built-in speakers & 1 subwoofer !!!!!!!) and i find the price quite reasonable for the laptop's sepcs.
