I don't want to discourage you but my brother got one like that a month ago. He returned back after week. He had problems with WiFi, some random errors, and of course the blue screen, but I am not sure if the problems were due to the machine itself or vista. Anyways, he got a mac and he's happy with it.

Nevertheless, Toshiba is one of the best overall, but make sure you get the warranty.

PS: Lebanon is a rip-off. my brother got it for $700 canadian which is cheaper than USD. (financing over 2 years with no interest is available as long as you don't miss a payment). Also, the macbook they have on their website is pretty good , but it's being sold on Apple website (and in all stores) for $999 plus tax.

there's a 3 years warranty ......
the macbook i spretty good i know but the specs.......i really don't wanna get a laptop with a video card with less than 512 mb memory or 4 gb ram, since you cant change anything in a laptop once you buy it .........
the mac is really pricy and with less specs + smaller screen 13" lol
thx for the warning
can u check your brother for me........
i am quite sure he can give u the exact version # of the toshiba he bought
by the way the mac's warranty for only 1 year while toshiba is for 3 ......

I think it would faster if you check the store's website: Future Shop

but the macbook pros have some good video cards but they are more expensive.

Nah nah portables can be extremely powerful, can run all apps and games, and still manage to be light weight enough as to not cause neck and pack pains when carried. I'll admit though they do fall on the more expensive side, but you can viably get a 15'inch laptop with these specs:
-Mobo: intel 965 (just in case u needed to install a beefier vga or more rams in the future)
-CPU: Core 2 duo 2.5ghz
-RAM: 4gb ddr2 800
-VGA: geforce 8600gt, or a radeon 3650 (both cards can run all new games on medium settings)
-HD: 500gb
-Blueray writer
etc
for under 2000$

One thing i advise is for you to ask them to preinstall xp on it and be done with vista. Trust me, this will save u alot of headack while u wait for Windows 7.

thank you
if u checked my links , banque audi provide it for 1680$ (to2sit )
so it's not that bad (and with 3 years warranty)
this specific laptop is very cheap if we compare it to other laptops with same specs
that's why i am surprised and i need some opinions about it .......
even when u try google "A300-1NT" , 99% of the results are in dunno what languages (european)
i think cz it's made in europe.....
i tried toshiba.com and found nothing , i found it on toshiba europe website
really confusing
i checked pcandparts.com it's for 1380$ , ma3 tva bisiro 1518 cash

but i will not buy it untill i completely am sure about it ..............
i foud no reviews on the net , at least nothing in english

Personally, I wouldn't recomment Toshiba. Others might disagree with me but I had a terrible experience with them few years ago, since then I've never bought any toshiba laptop. Check Dell and Sony offers. Dell is cheaper usually, but I have been using my laptop for 3 years (heavy usage) and I've never had a problem with it's hardware.

Basically, stay away from all offers that has Intel as graphic cards, and hard disks with a rotation speed of less than 5400RPM. The rest is based on what you need your laptop for.

I have a Toshiba Techra M7 it is good, the only annoying thing about it is that it gets super hot you can not put it on your lap if you are wearing shorts or thin cloth. I had a dell before, it is comparable to the toshiba so I would recommend getting the cheaper one with the same configuration.
