Another very helpful modding forum:

Yep now I'm in the process of refreshing my C++ knowledge so as Frisbeetarian stated we can each take a specific role and who knows what magic we can come up with later on

Have you guys played the game called "Everyday Shooter". That game was developed by one man. It might not be a AAA game but still it reveals just what one person can come up with.
Yes iv played his games, his name is jonathan mak
He had another game which was called gate88, its one of the best freeware games iv seen on the web.

Programming is just a tool. The most important part is the idea. You need to start off with a solid and great idea. What type of game do you want to play? What is the story? Never under-estimate the power of a good story in a game.

For example, ever since I finished playing the last of the Wing Commander series, I've been yearning for another similar title. Nothing has come out remotely close to it ever since. So I'm thinking about a game that follows the style of Wing Commander, with an epic drama similar to Battlestar Galactica. A game like that would rock!!!

The first game should be a simple 2d game which focuses mostly on a unique gameplay and nothing related to hizb-allah or any political movement :P

Guyz whats your take on a 2d space based turn based strategy? We can add many complexities and intricacies and fill a solar system with much detail.
