I know people who are still waiting in line since more than 2 weeks..

connections make wonders..

Btw, I am more than satisfied with Ogero. 9 Days uptime since I got it and still not even a disconnection from MSN. Latency is around 150ms and stable even at peak hours.. I don't need more than 5GB/5GB a month.. I can download huge files at work..

Man chou el stepsmle lezim ta3melon ta ten2ol men ISP la Ogero ?

Because if you talk audio or video to someone outside not over Ogero - it is illegal by law.
Check Ministry Of Telecommunications

However, Voice over IP and Videoconferencing are illegal in Lebanon.
And btw more funny there
Quote:
The Internet sector is liberalized in Lebanon, any one can apply to a license and become ISP. The MoT does not provide direct Internet services to End users, but have the monopole of the International and national connectivity.
They means because MoT have unlimited monopoly power on international bandwidth, they can sell to users cheaper than private ISP. And that happen... seems Ogero selling DSL by prices that is not affordable for other ISP's (with good quality) - it is my imagination and dream :D It is well known scenario. All ISP's dies, Ogero will make prices higher 2-3 times. Thats happen in Iran.

Bitek also track records, who is try to use voip, and in theory can save even all voice conversations.

P.S. Gebran Bassil was cutting international links left & right (except Barouk, which is most probably really was very illegal if it was to Israel, i know there is at least other 3 illegal links, most probably to Syria, Jordan, Turkey or Cyprus). For people - he tell on TV that they are illegal. Sure they say "WOOW, our hero, he cut illegal people". They are happy. His advisor or he think it is used for VoIP, thats primary reason why he cut them. They think about golden eggs that will start falling more.
But in reality it brings worse issue for citizens, totally garbage internet in much higher magnitude. But sure people believe TV. Because Ogero still not giving bandwidth to anyone. I guess first ISP's should get bandwidth, then they should cut illegal providers links...

so what does that mean? that i'm a criminal for using Skype to contact my family and friends in Poland?!?

haha Ogero just keeps getting more Monopolistic everyday... u can't do that.. only if that user has the same ISP.. lol

it's been almost 3 years since they set up this so called "DSL"... and the only improvement ever was that they lowered the price/100 extra MB from 500L.L to 150L.L(god i still remember that 220,000L.L+ overusage bill)

i also still remember the news that the internet was gonna be "20X faster".. ya right.. i guess who ever said "Dream 20X faster" was right

it seems like the Telecommunication networks in Lebanon will never succeed to Progress.. the day we will have a descent 1mbps connection is far away from what i see

time to compare again.. remember when i said a Major Isp(UPC) in Poland was offering 30mbps.. well look at what i just gazed upon

120Mbps?!?!? Holy ****... and not just Poland.. they've upgraded the system in Czech. Slovakia and other European countries.. When will we have this? :(

the price for 120mbps? $70/month(with a yearly contract).. but think about this way

in Lebanon.. you pay 512kbps/64kbps with 4GB/4GB/month at $47/month

look at 50mbps/5mbps with no limits... $42/month

you pay less.. but u get 100times download.. more lol

See how the world is Advancing.... and Lebanon... well Lebanon's stuck there... and might never squeeze out of that Dark Hole
