Atom 2
"Several reports have Intel confirming that the Atom N280, coupled with the GN40 chipset, is now shipping. This is earlier than the Q2 date originally expected for the successor to the N270, which is almost ubiquitous in the current generation of netbooks.
The N280 is expected to make its first appearance in the ASUS EeePC 1000HE, as predicted by HEXUS earlier this week.
We haven't seen any benchmark numbers yet, but with increased in frequency and front side bus and a chipset that promises a significant improvement in graphics performance, anyone thinking of buying a netbook may now be well advised to wait for the N280 to appear before taking the plunge."

So as it suggest refrain from purchasing any notebooks until the ones equiped with the above specifications are on sale. They do mean a whole lot of differences, because the upgraded graphics technology in them will mean that you can do a whole lot more with your notebook....
Man oh man i can never understand all this notebook mania, it just doesnt make any sense....ok get a notebook, i understand the inherent cheapness of it, but why upgrade it? And pay more? Didnt u want a cheap modest laptop to begin with? So why upgrade in the first place? If u want a better laptop just get one.....grrrr
