intel core 2 ,
clock around 2Ghz (doesnt matter really)
1GB ram,
around 120gb hdd
minimum 256mb vga

I'm thinking of toshiba , or maybe sony vaio, bass i am interested ino maykoun "neshif" el laptop, i need it to have butons for multimedia wou fazlaket besides the "ordinary keyboard", for that i have to look for the model name wala shou ?

Core 2 duo is newer than Core duo. Core 2 duo is faster and it consume less power

The ones that have 4MB cash are better, but this doesn't mean that the ones that have 2MB cash memory are bad.

And do you want to use your laptop for gaming ?
If you want to play games then don't get an integrated video card. Get nvidia or ATI video card. I recommend to get at least Geforce Go 7600 or ATI mobility radeon X1600

i just heard that sony vaio all come with shared VGA memory, unless u pay like 2600$ or above, so i guess i will stick to toshiba.

Go check the models at many stores and compare prices, if you can go for the 2gb ram, it would be better for you boris.

ino man this is always expandable, i could always later upgrade the rams to 2GB, bass technology wise, ino core 2 is the latest ba2a akid it runs fine on new windows and directx 10.0

My friend at uni just got a new toshiba
Satellite Pro
Dual core 2.13GHz, 100GB, 2GB RAM, 512Mb VGA(ATI radeon mobility X1600)
all that for 1850$...thats a very good price and can run Vista and all the games u want for the next year at least at optimal peformance.

if u wana wait for the 64bit laptops with Vista already installed u gonna have to wait at least 3-4 months

guys, i saw 2 laptops and one was Dual Core and the other Core2Duo.
which one is better? the DUal core (4Mb) ot the Core2duo? or is it just the same?
