ok walid since I am the outsider let me ask you this, how much does a good DELL costs in Lebanon?
and how reliable is their customer support?
Here in US you can get a good one for less than a 1000 ( sometimes 700) and their customer care is really good, any problem they will fix it up for you right away.
If you were in US, I would have recommended DELL ( despite the fan problems) but for Lebanon I say go for HP especially if the price difference is not big.

I agree with stan... NO DELL

I recommend Toshiba Qosmio... here's a small listing for its prices:

-Qosmio F25: Quality digital convergence at a lower price
An entertainment center comes standard with this powerful PC. Play DVDs, CDs, even TV that you can record, with the built-in TV tuner and DV Recorder. And watch it all on a crisp, brightscreen with great sound and picture quality. Price: 1899$

-Qosmio G15: Breakthrough Entertainment
Sacrifice nothing and get it all in satisfying portions: TV, DVD, gaming, MP3s and a top-of-the line notebook! Feel the music fill the room with harman-kardon® speakers and SRS® virtual surround sound. Price: 2299$

-Qosmio G25: So much more than a notebook
Take it all with you: DVD, DVR, TV, MP3s, games, mobile computing, 17” Diagonal Ultimate TruBrite display. Enabled by impeccable Toshiba technology. Price: 2999$

All are centrino and kinda expensive but u're getting quality for the price u're paying here walid...

Stanfordee is right, however the support is in Lebanon, get that....

I have bought over 2400 Dell laptops and with a failover rate of 1 out of 60...and that was a hard drive problem (hitachi) hard drives. Once we switched to Fujitsu drives, we never had a problem. Now Dell support (your call might end up in India) is ok...but better that others. But really, Dell is a great because the parts are there, the drivers are on their website easy downloadable so does HP.

JUST STAY AWAY FROM SONY!

I would say go for a Toshiba...I have owned 2 so far and now I have my third..they are super durable...

it will be a waste of money to buy a Sony...Sony is just another Dell..but fancier name and price...

Compaq are the worse....never buy one..I'm not sure about HP..but they are supposed to be good...

my advica is Toshiba...if you can get your hands on a Dell it wouldn't be bad...they have an awesome support...best warranty you can get..they have an on-site repairs..unlike the others...

Mared,
