Default bluetooth mobile hacking - 18th October 2006

i saw few days ago a report on discovery channel about how it is possible to hack a mobile phone through bluetooth...
they did a test, went to an airport , and actually made a call through the bluetuth of a guy sitting there , without him knowing anything....

the advice was : turn off your blutooth feature when not needed and try avoiding using bluetooth in public places

True, the virus used is called the bluebug. You can download the software and install it on your phone, it's called bloover.sis however it's mostly harmless now as all new smartphones are patched against this.
I remember back in 2002, I used have it and use it again old 7650 phones, and I confirm.. I could make calls via bluetooth from attacked phones without them knowing, it was fun =D
Anyway, there are no new known bugs to BT other than bluebug and the hijacker that basically steals your contact list and message inbox, and most new phones are also patched against this one.

Yes chicham, you don't have to accept. As I said in my post, it's called BlueBug, it's like a trojan virus infecting your phone and someone can use as a tunnel to make calls and other things..
Not very efficient lately thought, except on old phones with bluetooth
