Whats the best live performance you've watched? -
3rd April 2009
Might be a Metal performance, orchestral, Pop, Rock, Trance.. might be a whole concert that you've attended..
I love this 1998 Nobel Price live performance of "Summer Moved ON" by A-ha. Morten Harket, the lead singer of A-ha, was out of this world with that live performance!
The song was originally hastily written after a-ha agreed to a one-time reunion at the Nobel Peace Prize concert in 1998. There had been a lot of bad feelings between the band members, and each was hesitant to reunite. The thunderous success at the concert in performing only 2 songs inspired the band to reunite after a 4 year hiatus to record their sixth album for release in 2000. This song became a #1 radio hit in much of Europe, and the band has continued to record and perform together to significant international success, though that success has not extended to the U.S., where their recent work has gone unreleased.
Morten Harket holds the European record for the longest note held in a Top 40 pop song. During the song "Summer Moved On" Harket sustains a note for 20.2 seconds (=32 measures)
Here it is (just listen to the orchestral performance at 2:56):

Shakira was the best performance i have ever watched Her concert was great. You never get bored as she switches from rock to spanish to oriental. She dances belly dancing, she jumps around and she even has a snake on stage. I loved her concert and performance and she has a great voice too.
i've never been to a concert but Coldplay and Placebo have amazing concerts... Chris martin goes WILD on stage, and i like it when placebo start playing around with thier songs live...
Marcel Khalife - Montreal, November 2008. The only drawback was the need to filter out the fake "Allahhh"s and "Oooof"s often expressed during the least significant moments of the concert.
Best performance I've ever seen was by Dream Theater at the Zenith de Paris last year.
I couldn't shrug off the smile off my face for weeks :)
Saw Metallica last week in Paris as well it was AWESOME but nothing compared to the old days
