The movie I saw today is the
Children of Men, directed by Alfonso Cuarón
This movie would definitely not cheer you up, as it is drawing a very black picture about our near future, the story is playing in 2027, London.
In brief:
"The world's youngest citizen has just died at 18, and humankind is facing the likelihood of its own extinction. Set in and around a dystopian London fractious with violence and warring nationalistic sects, Children of Men follows the unexpected discovery of a lone pregnant woman and the desperate journey to deliver her to safety and restore faith for a future beyond those presently on Earth."
There was a scene at the end of the movie, when the first baby in 18 years was finally born, they were trying to get out from the camp, to reach the Human Project boat, but there was a battle going around them, shells fired all around. But as soon as the people noticed the baby they all fell silent, the guns fell silent, the soldiers and insurgents alike were staring at the baby like a miracle, and let them pass through the battlefield peacefully. Then the fightings resumed, but that one moment was heartbreaking...
Clive Owen was marvellous as always, a must see one!
