The New Movie Directed by James Cameron "Avatar" is using Stereoscopic "3D Cameras" Then they use projectors to create the 3D Feeling and give more Depth. The polarizing glasses will still be used but the problem is that they need special projectors to be placed in each cinema in order to show the movie properly which will cost a lot of money. The Movie Used a 1.85 Ratio if I remember correctly, and the region in the middle will be in 3D whereas the sides will be cropped.

New 3D Software have the Ability to go into Stereo view such as Autodesk MAYA 2009.
