Default What kind of music you listen to? - 29th May 2008

I am into old punk music like exploited, dead kennedies, bad religion, black flag and all that stuff. I discovered psychobilly lately and rockabilly (new 50s punk music).

But it seems that in Lebanon, its not aloud to have this kind of music and people dont know much about it. Would you like to have a punk scene in Lebanon?

So what? It does talk about what people are scared to say and keeps in their mind.

Maybe you dont like it, but other might. Dont you think it would be a good idea to have unusual music taste in Leb and see outside the box a little bit?

But why dont we have this kind of music in Leb? Is it because it offend politicians. Still we have tv programs that does that no?

The best punk rockers were KISS.

The best modern punk rockers, in my opinion, are Offspring and Green Day. I think there are plenty of fans for these groups in Lebanon. But as for the underground/independent punk rock groups, I think you'd need a dedicated FM station.

Heavy Blues / Rock :
- Jimi Hendrix
- Stevie Ray Vaughn
- Led Zeppelin
- Gary Moore
- Carlos Santana
- Dire Straits
- PINK FLOYD ...

Alternative :
- Nirvana
- Foo Fighters
- System of a Down
- Oasis
- Audioslave

Hard Rock / Heavy Metal : (in random order of appreciation)
- Black Sabbath
- Ozzy Osbourne
- Rainbow / Ronnie James DIO
- Deep Purple
- Iron Maiden
- Megadeth
- Metallica
- Helloween
- Stratovarius
- Guns n' Roses
- Kiss

As you can see, I am into Death, doom, symphonic, black, bla bla bla METAL ... because all of these so called sub-genres have sucked the feeling out of metal music ... I just despise them.

I believe the music of ICONS such as Hendrix and Pink Floyd has a universal value. Their and their likes' music should be better spread among this generation (to which I belong).

As for HEAVY METAL, you can get it all down to three names :
Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath guitarist, Legend)
Ozzy Osbourne
Ronnie James DIO

Black Sabbath made Metal, and others followed ....
