Lebanese on Germany's Superstar finale -

Dear all,
A Lebanese called Fadi Maalouf is competing for the finale of Germany's Superstar, the "DSDS".
The finale is tomorrow, broadcasted live on RTL at 9:15 PM Beirut time.
To all people living in Europe,
PLEASE VOTE FOR OUR LEBANESE CANDIDATE.

tja, i didnt watch any of the episodes of that DSDS, for simply i'm not into these programs..
i heard however few weeks ago from some friends that a lebanese called Fadi Maalouf is doing good at DSDS and might reach the finals. I was kept updated and knew that he reached the final but never bothered to watch it..
now this thread reminded me to check the final results came out today, and unfortunately Fadi lost, he got 35% of the votings, while the winner was Thomas Godoj who got the rest 65%.
as a quick review, i think two factors played a major role by those votings:
1. as my lebanese friends told me before the abstained from voting because of a Bild magazine published article that Fadi's married to a man. some thought that was just rumors, but now after some googling just it's confirmed by DSDS website news and by viewing some vids about Fadi. One can easily tell i suggest! That should've however affected his lebanese and females supporters which were relatively high.
2. and well, as Youchka's racist post at the start (btw Fadi's from zahle, now that's even more racism from Youchka ), the germans should have thought the same way and dismissed the "lebanese guy"! Though Thomas is purely polish (descended), but still closer to the germans than a half lebanese half german guy, who moved to germany only 2 years ago!
PS: i'm bewildered by his german accent since only two years aren't even enough to learn the languange correctly not only catch the accent! it was mentioned that his grandmother taught him german in lebanon before he moved with his family to france during the civil war and then to germany in 2006!!
anyway, i found the vids of the Final on Youtube, so you can judge by yourself. IMO, objectively speaking and as a normal viewer (i'm not an expert in this domain), Fadi should have winned it!

Regarding the rumors about Fady being married to a man, I got wind of them, but I asked around, and it seems it's just a rumor, however, regarding his sexual orientation, I am not sure, but I think he is gay, but then so what, so is Mika ;)
As for who should have won, definitely Fady should have won, I personally think he outdid Thomas in the song they performed together in the finale.
It doesn't really matter though who won, because now that both of them got their CDs out, it seems Fadi's song is getting much more acclamation.

يصرخون إسمه على الطرقات... مواكب سيارة لا تنضب ولا تنتهي تحمل صورته وملصقات على اسمه... شباب يرتدون قمصان T-Shirt تحمل أيضاً صورته واسمه...ينتظرون إطلالته مسمرين على شاشات التلفزيون...ينشئون النوادي Fan-club ويتنادون للتصويت له بينما تصدح أجهزتهم الخليوية بأغانيه.
مشهد لربما كان عادي وقد اعتدناه امام وفرة "فنانينا" الا أنه لا يحدث في لبنان، بل في ألمانيا. نعم في ألمانيا، في بلاد هيغل وكانت و بيتهوفن وفاغنر... في بلاد سيارات المرسيدس والـ BMW و البورش... وفي بلاد البيرة الشهيرة الشقراء والسمراء والسوداء ومقانق الفرانكفورتر الشهية ...
إنه مشهد قريب من برنامج اللبنانين المفضل "سوبر ستار" ولكن في نسخته الالمانية: Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar حيث تبارى الشهر المنصرم (17 أيار) اللبناني فادي معلوف ، من زحلة، من أب وأم لبنانيان، وكأن قدر زحلة مرة جديدة، وعالم الفن و الشهرة أن يكوناً على موعد مع ميشال شلهوب آخر، أصبح في احد الأيام عمر الشريف (وان افترق عالمهما: الاول اعتلى نجومية الفن السابع، والاخير عالم الغناء).
تبارى اللبناني فادي معلوف في نهائية البرنامج على اللقب من بين 15 مرشح آخر. وقد تم اختيارهم تباعاً على مر التصفيات من بين ثلاثين ألف مرشح مثلوا الاتحاد الاوروبي.
فاز اللبناني فادي معلوف بالمرتبة الثانية. وقد سرت اشاعات كثيرة وأخبار عديدة عن تدخلات سياسية وضغوطات كثيرة قامت بها "مجموعات من اللوبي" للحؤول دون فوزه... ولكن قبل التأكد من هذه المعلومات، هناك ثابتة واحدة أكيدة: سيمر وقت طويل قبل أن تنسى شوارع ألمانيا جملة رددها معجبوه من الشباب الألماني ولأكثر من شهرين باللغة اللبنانية المحكية: "فادي حبيبي"...
طرح now Lebanon عدة اسئلة على فادي معلوف وكانت "الدردشة" معه بواسطة الهاتف من محل اقامته في المانيا:
1) - من هو فادي معلوف؟
عمري 29 سنة، من زحلة، لبناني ولكن لي أيضا جذور المانية، ذلك اذ أن جدتي هي المانية. أتكلم خمسة لغات. امارس هواية الغناء منذ صغري...ومؤخراً فزت بالمرتبة الثانية بمسابقة ال"سوبر ستار" - المانيا.
اطلالتي هذه سمحت لمئة مليون اوروبي بالتعرف عليّ. وباستطلاع رأي جرى مؤخراً، أحتللت المركز السابع "للشخصية الاكثر شهرة في اوروبا". ولتوه، أنهيت تصوير فيديوكليب سيبدأ بثه على وسائل الاعلام.
2) باختصار، ما هي المسابقة؟ أهميتها؟
برنامج ال"سوبر ستار" وهو على غرار مثيله الاميركي: ِAmerican Idol. ضمّ 3 بلدان: ألمانيا، النمسا وسويسرا. شارك على مرّ التصفيات قرابة الثلاثين الف مشترك. نلت 40% من مجموع الاصوات في المرحلة الاخيرة (المرتبة الثانية). كلمة الفصل هي للجمهور وحده، فأعضاء لجنة الحكام لا يصوتون. فقط الجمهور هو المعني والذي يصوت.
3) كيف تفاعل معك الجمهور الاوروبي عامة والالماني خاصة؟
منذ البداية، كما ولو ان الجمهور الالماني قد "تبناني". أعتقدت بأن "التشجيع" كان سيقتصر على الالمان...سرعان ما تبين لي على العكس بأن جمهور المشجعين شمل أيضاً الاوروبين، وانا على سبيل المثال معروف جداً في فرنسا، حيث أهمّ بالتحضير لأغنية.
4) ما هي مشاريع فادي معلوف اليوم بعد فوزه بالمرتبة الثانية؟
كما كنت أقول، أحضر لاصدار اغنية يقوم بتلحينها ELOSFFON المؤلف المشهور الذي يكتب ويؤلف لمشاهير الاغنية كمثل Céline Dion و Britney Spears و Madonna. هذا الاحد سأقابل في منزلهما Céline Dion وزوجها رينيه، للتحدث في امكانية القيام بعمل مشترك، أغنية Duo تجمعني مع Dion.
5) كلمة للشباب اللبناني؟
المثابرة والعناد والسعي ابداً لتحقيق أحلامه. أنظر اليّ على سبيل المثال: اجبرت على مغادرة لبنان وعلى فراق عائلتي بسبب الظروف. غادرت فقط منذ سنة ونصف الى المانيا وأنا حتى لا أتحدث الألمانية... ولن أقول أكثر. على صعيد اخر، سيكون لي لقاء مع الشباب اللبناني العام المقبل اذ يستضيفني برنامج "ستار اكاديمي".
