Pity I dont have Arabic fonts on my keyboard, I'll recite the words of three of my favourite songs( I have about two hundreds of them).

1- Al Atlal by Oum Kulthum (The Ruins, so apt eh!)
In this song Oum Kulthum and the Pyramids both look equally immortal. From beginning to end it's a relentless beauty'

2- A Fairouz song called Bi Khoukna Ya bni.( In our hut, my son) This would have to be one of the most powerful descriptions of a woman's loss I have ever heard. And to hear it by a voice that fills every note with such lavitating emotions, is enough To send Fairouz' lovers into a state of trance.

3-Another Fairouz one, Howneek Fi Sajra ( The tree over there). There is such a compelling mystery to the implications of the words of this song. It can mean something so silly or something so "Tabooistic". So deliciously intriguing. Either way you forgive fairouz the deficiency in the lyrics as her voice does overcome the letters of the alphabet.
