If the so called equality has been been around for so long, why would Faith be asking this question?

well there was no reason whatsoever for the book to be banned in Lebanon, people have it on e-book anyway, but hey it's lebanon, it's always gonna be like this, whether this authority remains here or the opposition takes control.
Generaldave I like your faith and I admire it, i'm a catholic by birth but I dont really believe in the divinity of jesus or in God at all, of course this story is ficiton but the research done is great, Leonardo's affiliation tothe priory of Sion is true, whether MM and Jesus were married or not who knows, lots of facts are hidden by the bible anyway, history is written by the winners anyway and to me the bible is mostly history, we will never come to the end of this discussion anyway, guess everyone will know if there's a heaven or not at the end when we die, so till then let's raise our hopes for a secular Lebanon free from this criminal police state, w kill wa7ad dino la 7alo.

I believe this book should be discussed more in lebanon by christian authorities and they should explain how facts inside it can be contradicted as has been discussed in this forum. Finding answers to this book is a great tool for people who are seeking the truth.

I am sure this book was an attempt to kill people's faith..besides commercial purposes and that's not a bad thing since attempts like these strengthen the faith of many and makes it a more solid one.

For example, why would Jesus be married? If he was married why wouldn't he be sitting with his wife and taking care of his children as a good husband does instead of hanging around from city to another sleeping each day in a different place..waking up early to pray?

As God, he knows that he'll be killed at a certain age..why would a sane man marry and get children when he knows that they'll become orphan in a short while?

He came to give us a message and his celibacy was necessary to transform it.. what do u think? as for example John the baptist...did anyone ask whether he was married or not??
For some people, the marriage of Jesus would be a deterioration of faith...for others it's just an additional information and we should not stop at it. However, let's stick to the bible. Whatever that was not written in it, is not necessary to our knowledge and faith. Let's be guided by the saints and hope we'll live in one tenth the peace and joy they lived in because they experienced the living God that spoke to them through the bible.
God bless

Well, let us not concentrate on the Biblical part of the novel, but rather the Artistic part of it. As i have checked the Da Vinci Paintings from many valuable sources, i noticed that :

1- in " The Last Supper " painting , the person on the right of Jesus is a woman , presumably Mary Magdalene . T

2- There was a symmetry between jesus's clothing and her's , and their positionning , which A) Makes the distance between them a "V" shape, symbol of female fertility , and a woman's womb B) The Clothing and The Body between Jesus and Mary do remarkably resemble the YIN-YANG symbol of equilibrium between the masculine and feminine

3- there was a dagger in the painting, which needs a bit of a concentration to notice, but is quite obvious ... and Saint Simon is holding the dagger, staring threateningly at the Magdalene .

4- Contradictory to the Bible, there was no Jesus Cup on the last supper, instead ... there was thirteen glasses of wine drawn by Leonardo Da Vinci

5- In The " Madonna Of The Rocks " pic : Mary's hand was threatening baby John

6- The Angel Had a very ironic expression on his face , as if he was annoyed by Baby Jesus , pointing his finger at him . ( something which isnt mentionned in the Book )

7- The Angel's finger was drawn in a Blade's shape

8- If we Draw a line , prolonging the "blade" formed by the Angel's finger ... it would virtually continue cutting Jesus's head .

=====

While the issue of Jesus and Mary cannot be quite confirmed, we can STRONGLY notice on the other hand ... that Leonardo Da Vinci indeed has hidden subliminal messages in his Art. As clearly being not a Christian person, he did Christian art only to be payed ... and as a result to his eccentricity, and his genius mind ... he has Hidden Anti-Christian Messages , being displayed in Church , in front of Churchgoers , without them noticing ! How Ironic !

PS : I Endorse the banning of such book in Lebanon, because this book is to be read by people with a minimal intellect. While fanatics in Lebanon , may take this book as a cause to bash Christianity !

well I agree with you on the points you raised, but banning the book? why only those who have that minimal intellect you're talking about would step into a bookshop and buy it! the other fraction doesn't even read books! Censorship is not good, let everyone decide for himself! Free Speech!

Basically, what you're saying is true ... however, you live in a country ruled by sectarianism , and such books , may be interpreted very superficially ( especially by the other sects than the one aimed in the book ) which kind of justifies the banning, although it wasn't banned for this specific reason, but rather stupid ones.

Anyway, the book managed to get into leb, and it's being sold "underground" mich lamin ma ken ... so rest assured my friend, people who have the intellect to understand the book, have already gotten hand on it ;)
