the whole movie and lack of vampire blood sucking was to represent that idea that teen needs to abstain from kissing, etc..

i'm not sure that everybody abroad loves it since on cracked.com a US online magazine they keep ripping fun of that movie like crazy

as for the dude, ino i think his character might be cool but his acting NOT

come on, he wants to be cool but doesnt want to act the part

and as i said the chick was nice, but she wasted her time on the movie

it cant be helped but sense that the first movie missed the chance to ride the hype

lack of kissing.. oh for the love of humanity, pity us and let them KISS that's what we are watching the movie for hehehe

as u said i hope they do better with the second movie

Salome, if i may, nothing personal

but i like to share this review of the movie that kinda sums up my current perspective of it

i just can't help it, this movie could have been cool, and kristen ---- (stewart) is hot, so many would-be fans felt a spasm rushing through our chest when we watched this and so this is not nagging we are only commenting to make the sequel better cuz we care (about vampires in general and kristen stewart in particular)

For almost a year I didn't even want to hear about this movie I put it right away into the meaningless to watch category...

But then everybody has to see the movie, not just for 5 minutes, to form an opinion...then one would realize actually they do kiss in the movie..

Also one shouldn't expect here the usual hollywood cliches, sexy chick showing everything and being jumpy etc...for that you have countless other movies and better actresses

The book portreys quite an interesting and sensitive story, as I have noticed mainly girls like it, but not exclusively, guys enjoyed the movie too of course maybe not that much as a girl would appreciate it...depends on taste

oh they mini kiss, i must have been bored to death by that point to remember that part in a movie about abstinence, pardon my bad..

my points were clear, the (vampire) movie is sexxx and voilence free and that is a problem for many ppl

the book wanted to be sensitive, the movie ended up confused

no need to go jump on another movie topic when discussing the isssues with this one (i know it's customary to ask me to leave each thread i am not welcome in cuz i dont agree with the karma and that gets considered personal like clockwork.. hehe)

it was hyped and many of us want to see a better sequel

this one got a bad cumilative ratting from reviews at rotten tomatoes of 49% and MANY ppl felt disappointed

so i am not bs-ing this thread

not everybody needs to agree with everybody, basic rule of life and assumptions dont help either

perhaps that reviewer is on my paycheck also so he might deserve the assumption/ignore treatment as well when discussing what he posted hehe

the movie could have been cool and the actress could have shined in it, that's why some of us care and dont brush this movie aside as a usual annually hollywood procuded trash..

but then again i bet none of what i said seemed sincere enough now

i stand accused of mindlessly messing up the karma..

i'll try not to be much of a bother, yet strangely some ppl agree with me on this movie perspective

I basically dislike any movies based on books.
For the simple reason, they RUIN it: Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, Twilight.....etc

true, they usually tend to massacre the book

i loved Dreamcatcher by Stephen king but when i watched the movie my heart broke

but i read Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice, the movie wasn't a bad interpretation of it ;)

as for Twilight, the movie discouraged me honestly from reading the books :(

btw i love harry potter 1 the book i can understand what kids liked about it hehe

Actually I thought to look for other fans of the serie with my thread, and not really for those who didn't like it...and I am also not that surprised since somehow I suspected on this forum I won't find people who liked it

Of course you can criticize the movie or the books though, I wonder anybody read it?

I don't agree, this movie doesn't need the typical hollywood sex cliche...good vampire movies in general are not vulgar, they rather have a special way to portrey temptation, seduction, romance and the dark side of the soul...however this movie has again a new perspective which I liked a lot, indeed it is a sensitive story...maybe it takes sensitive girls to understand it
