Three days prior I went on an excurtiating coaching exercise of a friend of mine to attend the meeting and tell people he was shadow1. After all none of them had met me before so none knew what I looked like. Training a stand -in was no easy feat when you have to instill humour in morbid personalities, make him memorise whom to act friendly towards and whom to ignore completely, whom to show special attention to and what topics to speak about and what to avoid, how far to progress in a conversation and never get into details. Stick to general topics like the weather and people's health.

Well my stand-in performed a fabulous job and by the time the gathering dispersed not one single person suspected anything.
So to all those who claim to have met me, my sincerest apology for this unfortunate turn of events.

So Yes I have only met 2 people from this forum but one no longer writes in here and the other bilked.
well well well bravo to your "impersonator" he did a good job, i think !!! ( we should ask those who had a long chit chat with him)
....... oh and ......bad luck to you , you missed one of the most charming friendly gathering . .... your loss !!!!!

There's something with that performer, something you wouldn't teach, something you couldn't notice, this something made me realize it was the real you.

I know, I know. He did say it was a nice gathering but what can I do? I wanted to go so badly but family functions can be oppressive at times. My "impersonator" did a good job more or less except when he engaged in serious discussions with Fidelio and Red Phoenix. He was instructed to stick to two topics: the weather and everyone's health like fine day, hot day and how do you do and this sort of things.

You are underestimating my coaching abilities ya Boiler. Not one single person tried to ascertain his identity. For all you guys know he could have been a suicide bomber.
As for you, I must have overlooked the fact that you were going to be there. Otherwise I would have hammered into his head what he should say to you.
Yalla anyway. Perhaps I will meet you guys in Sept 2011 when my next visit to lebanon is going to take place.
Out of curiosity what is this something that made you realise it was I? Culd your senses have betrayed you this once?
