It is interesting to trace ancestry through the scientific analysis and genome tracking but it does not change what Lebanese are today.
From the outside, looking in .... I can say without reservation that the Lebanese are very hospitable, very educated and knowledgeable, very friendly people.
They are a "people" who are still looking for and working towards a cohesive country of peace and prosperity. I don't see this so much as an issue of "racism" as I do an issue of melding of sects and religion with politics often getting in the way of that ... as is the case in most countries.
I have not been around here much lately (home politics took precedence) and never posted as much in the lounge as I probably should have - but I've seen a lot during my almost 3 years in this community from the outside - whatever the ancient ancestry is, the young Lebanese have a firm conviction of nationalism IMO, which has nothing to do with genetic maps of the past.
Look to the future - not the past.
