Riana is an old English/ Welsh name that means: Queen, Goddess, or Witch! GOD knows she can be the three combined. I usually bring out the goddess in her, but some people bring out the witch :D:D:D

I like the name Kayan for a boy. It sounds good in English and writes well too. It has a beautiful meaning in Arabic.

I also like the name Ian for a boy (Ian or Eyan).

If I ever adopt or have a baby boy (by means of artificial insemination :P) I'll name him... :D:D:D only one person knows what I'll name him ;) :D

BTW, I like the name Erika for a girl, but in Arabic (the way we pronounce it) it means couch!
I also like the name Alex for a girl, but when written in Arabic, it means... something bad :D
hmm whats wrong with Mira in spanish ? it sounds good , and the meaning is also good :)

I am old enough to reproduce, in fact I will always be able to reproduce (that's for the girls).

Umh I never thought of this but i think I will choose a name 3al mooda, that is not too complicated, that's easy to pronounce,, but I do not have a name to give you now.

You gettin' married to Caramel lebanese_a??? Mabrouk dude!!!

I personnaly really like arabic names. They just sound deeper than the usual Pierre, Paul, Jacques.

For boys I really like Talal & Taymour. However I have to take my father's name into account as well, he's called Fawzi, my uncle's name is Lebnen.

For ladies, I really like Yasmina, Dina (my sister's names), Assia if I ever have a 4th girl i'll call her India.

That is if my wife agrees of course.

Kids? Maybe, who knows, but definitely not in the near future.
But in general my favourite names for girls are: Emma, Juliette, Dora, Lilly.
For boys: Tristan, Nimrod, Carlos, Lucien.

First of all I like two have only two kids; a girl and a boy if God permit. I would name the boy 4 names: the first of my choice, the 2nd of my wife choice, the 3rd will be my dad's name, and the 4th will be her dad's name. The same thing goes for the girl. When my kids reach 18 years old they will have the right to choose one of these four names.

boy: Omar or Amir(both are extremely beautiful)
girl(surely a compounded name): Donana-Beauty or Anna-Karenina

Well to each his or her porrogative, no?!.
I do not mean to generalise, but do believe that we in the East and especially Lebanon have somewhat of a complex of inferiority towards almost e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g that has to do with the West.
We might be enjoying still a high percentage of educated people compared to the rest of the Middle-East, but I´m convinced that the "intellect" factor is sloping down in our country. As if we are a bit ashamed of anything that identify us as Lebanese. Even our spoken language is being reshaped and induced with so many English, French words..you name it.
What is wrong with Maroun?...Gebran?...Youssif (Not Joseph)?...7anna (not Jean)?...In any case (Gabriel, Joseph and Jean) are derrivative from the previous, no?
I myself am from a Lebanese Father and Belgium Mother and I have 3 kids
Mayssa, Henri(Whereby I had to name him after my father...didn´t have a choice in that) and my youngest is Yasmina.
I do believe that our culture and heritage are so rich to be envied by the rest.
I myself will do my outmost to raise my kids to be proud of their Lebanese heritage, cutoms, ways and dialect and hope that at least a majority will share my beliefs too.
After all how righ was he who said : " A nation whose heritage transforms into just a folclore...that nation is on the road to extinction".
We can even learn from our closest neighbour (or enemy) or whatever we would like to call them. look at the name the majority choses for their kids. They are ancient Biblical names like (Jedeon, Sim7a...Benyamin...Mena7im...) and they wear those names proudly.
...last, but not least..." Man Nakara Asslahou...La Asslan Lahou"
So how about (Nour?!...Youmna?!...Rouba?!...)...
Hope I didn´t offend anybody and please do take it in good spirit.
Cheers to all.
i respect your point of view and apreciate that you remind us of our heritage ...
but if we name our kids europeen names this will never cause a devaluation of our heritage believe me its is not in the name its in the soul and in our education that we bring our kids to know and love their country , the heritage, and our coutumes ... all this comes with what we teach our kids not in the names we give them ! believe me my kids have europeen names (mostly cause we are franco libanais ) but they are more patriotic, knows their history and are proud of it and work for their country maybe more than a youssef or a hassan or a maroun ! the name has nothing to do with that ! with all my respect to all names of course i have nothing against arabic lebanese or any sort of names ... its only a matter of choice and personal taste its not cause we are ashamed or because we do not respect or forget our heritage !
