This is not about right or wrong or black and white! This is about culture and a way of life... the guy found what he thought was a good husband for his daughter...
1 - any of you noticed that the girl still lives with her parents???
2- girls mature at around 9-10 years of age (i.e. they can reproduce at that age!)... to draw a comparison, when the baby can start eat solid food at 4 months, do you keep feeding him/her stricktly milk for 2 more years?

No one's asking you or anyone related to you to get married at the age of 8... leave people live in peace!
Would you ask those little girls what they prefere at the age of 8, being raped by a b_stard pedophile, or playing with dolls? I wonder if they would choose the first option.

There is no leave people in peace in this issue. It is a matter of universal human rights. We are not living the age of splendid isolation, when we do not care what is happening in far away countries. In this age humans are expected to be more responsible, and ever less backward minded. If you can just sit and watch the misery of other people in front of your eyes (in this case raping of little girls) and declaring like a hippy "live and let live" then you choose to turn a blind eye on those victims. You can try to justify with: but this is their culture, we have to respect this etc... next time you will respect the culture of the satanic cult which is cutting lil babies open alive?

Oh by the way, did you hear that even baby girls less than 1 year old can be "forced" to get married in KSA?

I dont know who mentioned it before, but all this sickness can be rooted back to the backward mentality of the society. The men are sexually too frustrated, therefore they come up with all kinds of pervert solutions.

add to that it's not something impossible to happen in our region, my grandmother got married when she was 11.. to my grandfather who was 32.. so.. it happens, and back then (in the 1920s) it was perfectly fine! .. after all, age is just a number

No one has the right to force his society's belief unto other society's. You are neither god or a perfect being to dictate to people what is right and what is wrong. Invading other countries on the pretext of civilizing them is utterly wrong and barbaric, it is vile and dogmatic.

Live in your own society and leave people alone. They want to worship the pepsi bottle, then u dont have a say in it. Even if it occurs to be wrong, because basically my friend whomever succeeds in forcing his beliefs unto other people logically has more power. And that is called oppression not enlightenment.

Instead of cursing the act (which i disapprove of) all day, try to understand why they do what they. Try to broaden ur perspective on human behavior, and dont categorize everything u see, it will only limit ur view on things.

I understand ur frustation and why deem this act to be utterly disgusting, but playing with dolls is something that girls do in ur country, not theirs. While getting married at 8 is considered wrong in our culture, as we should perceive that it should be considered wrong in theirs...its not, so ur best chance of changing that, is to give out information on what could better their lives, on what you think could make them happy. If they accept it, fine, all the better. If they dont, then u dont have the right to force them into submission. Its what the U.S did in invading Iraq under the pretext of civilizing and helping the Iraqis threw overthrowing Saddam.

-is it in the culture of those people to travel in private jet planes ?
-is it in the culture of those people to have vacations on the most luxurious yakhts ?

I am really fed up to hear such hippy attitude in serious matters like this. I hope you do realize raping a 8 year old little girl is somehow not the same category as worshipping a pepsi bottle.
There can and shall be cultural differences, but we shall not accept the violation of basic human rights. And these human rights are universal, as long as we all belong to the human race. You agree that saudis are humans too?

Nobody was talking about invasion, but I repeat again we are not living the age of splended isolation. We have international media you know, thats why we can raise our concerns about this issue now, on this forum. And I am sure many human rights activists are doing the same on other platforms.
So if a b_stard pedophile next time decides to rape a 8 year old little girl in the desert, his case wont go unnoticed anymore. Thanks God humans reached that level when they can condemn such an act collectively, worldwide.
Your outdated hippy attitude wont change anything.

Ah you disapprove the raping of that little girl?? But you still stand by and watching because you respect the pedophile's cultural difference??

I understand their reason very well, as I said before, saudi men basically are sexually frustrated, therefore perverts. No need for justifying their barbaric act.

What distincts us humans from animals (or ideally shall) is that we can have a common consciousness about what is an acceptable basic behaviour and what is not. Raping little girls anywhere in this world is not an acceptable behaviour.

MEN???

These are not men!

There's a very nice poem by Khalil Moutran, called "مقتل بزرجمهر", where the daughter of an executed prince removes her veil in front of all the crowds, and people ask her if she's not ashamed. The end of the poem goes: "ماكانت الحسناء ترفع سترها لو أن في هذي الجموع رجالا"
