So if you are not convinced, will you still follow the law???

You reached a red traffic light late after midnight.
You looked around, didn't see any near or far cars, didn't hear anything coming in the silence of the night.
Ofcourse, there is no presence of any kind of cameras recording.

The question is.
What did I do?

1- I crossed a red light.
2- I waited for the green light to come on.

And another question.

What did you do?
and why did you do that?

I dont know what you did, but I would wait for the green, because this is the law, right??...your perceptions might be also wrong, what if you assessed wrong?

And I also dont live in Lebanon:D so here these things are obvious

In lebanon its not a case of red or green traffic light, but people are not patient.
Once i was in hamra at 3 in the morning i saw a GREEN light and there was no one i decided to stop and thank god i did that coz one 7mar speeding over 80 or 90kmh passing the red light.

To answer you question boiler in lebanon i would stop on the red and green traffic light to check my way.

To be honest, usually i will wait for the green light to come...but the idea about crossing the red light if the road was empty may came to my mind ... bas birja3 besfou2 7ale kaff la ma a3mila

Not really. If you're close enough to the intersection and you don't have enough time/distance, go through the yellow light. Slamming the brakes endangers you and the cars behind you. Of course, if you're far enough to safely brake before the intersection, then by all means stop. The key is not to be in the middle of the intersection when the light turns red.

In the past, I used to make a right turn, then make a uturn then turn right again THE LEBANESE WAY

Thankfully, where I live, the lights have some kind of sensor that detects traffic. For example, if I stop at a red light and I'm the only one in that intersection and there is no traffic on the other side, then the light turns green. It's so cool.
