If by any chance the traffic lights were not broken down - style jeux de lumiere ya3ni - well i always double my speed to pass before the lights turn Red

Why ???? because i hate waiting and i dont want to get stuck in the traffic jam again and wait for 5 or 10 more minutes for nothing

If im not speeding i have the time to press the breaks and stop.
If im speeding and i pressed the breaks i might stop in the middle of the crossing or i might be hit by another car speeding behind me to cross on the orange light, so i prefer to pass.

It depends... If I'm 10m away of course I'll just pass. If I'm 50m away I'll stop...

Of course, in most European countries, orange means stop (and only pass if you can't stop before), but those are just rules. In Lebanon, I'll probably speed, but not dangerously...

It is true your answer is very reasonable and logical, but not the right one. And this question was asked in many arabic countries including Dubai, and less than 1 % of the people got the right answer, while in most european countries, the percentage of right answers was over 50%.

Yalla you have til tomorrow to figure it out!

Key element is safety.

You always have to stop on a yellow light unless you can't make it safely.

In Canada, you could get fined for breaking a yellow light, however, you get no demerit points removed. You could contest the fine and win most of the time by playing on the safety issue.

You're saying that the light turned to "orange" and not "yellow" or are you meaning the same in this case..
