driving in lebanon is absolute craziness especially when there are 1000's of scooters buzzing around. I, myself, witnessed 2 accidents last month. one involving a car and a scooter and the other involving a minivan and a scooter.

It's been years that young guys are losing their lives infront of our eyes, and we're doing nothing about it...

I lost more friends during the past years than an army loses after a war...

It's unacceptable and the worst enemy is alcohol...

I used to drive after drinking when I was in Lebanon but now I can never do it after coming here to Canada...

Most of the accidents are due to drinking and I really hope the government takes the necessary measures and punishes anyone who drinks and drives. This person can be a treat to himself and to others.

Here in Canada you'll have a criminal record if you're caught and that's what makes you not to do it...

Similar punishments should be implemented in Lebanon...

Anyway RIP to all my friends...

Thank you!!

well lets put it this way Lebanese people should be judged the way they drive like maniacs plus i agree with you we should judge our government for not doing anything!

i agree that fines will reduce the traffic problem but we dont even have good roads for that we don't even have lined roads or road signs or traffic lights in all the cities we dont have speed cameras on the highway fixing the roads in lebanon would be be very expensive plus people would not understand anything of the road lines etc because in lebanon when they take the driver license they dont even learn those things you got a whole wrong system and fixing it today is hard those things should have been done in the 1950's

the government could make a lot of money from fines etc plus our road would be much safer but the problem is how can we get there when there is no place to begin from as we are really late to fix the problem

All what i can say is that nowadays people are driving like animals ...everyday while i am driving i pray to get home or work safe.
God they are crazy.. they don't have any sense of responsability... they drive very fast, they cross the yellow lines ta yimcho 3akes l sayr and they curse you if you dont move aside to let them pass
And what makes me angry is that noone is punishing them ... feltenin 3ala rassoun .... and to be honest most of them are not living in lebanon .. we know it from the plate number ... so my question is: do they dare drive this way where they live ?? ... mitl l toutou byemcho 3al nizam ... if they want to die .. let them go suicide elsewhere .. we dont want to die because of them

Sorry to bust your bubble there Armenian but seems like you got "smarter" by moving to Canada.

Cops or authorities may play a small part in this, but the bottom line, its Common sense not to drink and drive. Laws do not prevent you from driving when you are shyte faced, its you.

These days, Beer is cheaper than gas - my view is

DRINK BEER - DON'T DRIVE!

I heard of a speeding truck that lost control and crossed the borders between the 2 directions in Jbeil's coastal highway. The truck smashed a car whose driver is a newlywed doctor.

The groom didn't survive, the truck driver is safe and imprisoned.

Default Traffic light quizz! Let us test your knowledge... - 29th September 2009

Before you arrive to the traffic light in front of you, it turns to Orange..... do you stop at once or do you speed your way through and why???

Please state the reason why do you stop or why do you speed your way through, because it is really important to your answer.
