Icon5 Pen or Keyboard - 6th July 2007

Nowadays, we often use the keyboard to write. Many of us stopped using a pen or rarely using it, like me for example I use a pen in an exam, or when I'm not on PC!

So, we saw many speaking and writing about the pen and that they cannot stop using it, like the novelist Peter Handke who said that the whish of the pencil on papers is simply charming!

Keyboard gave many advantages, the speed to write pages in little time, the backspace button so you don't scratch the words you don't want, or the font options but you'll loose the joy of painting the letters on the paper!

Umberto Eco said that when we write on keyboard our fingers are faster than our mind! On paper we take all the time to create thoughts then writing them!

So what do you often use, pen or keyboard? What do you prefer and why?

I often use the keyboard because I am obliged to present typed-projects or homeworks but I prefer writing with the pen because I can manage my thoughts easily,so I prepare the project/homework on a paper before typing it because it's more easy for me and I enjoy it

i always use a pen and a paper to draw my sketches!
but besides that...i only write reports so of course i use my laptop to do so! it's easy, clean and neat! and at least you're able to control the number of pages. Like when you're supposed to write 50 pages, and you're writing your 30th knowing you're still haven't tackled the majority of the issues in your report, you'll know then that you need to be more concise. However i do use the paper to make a plan, or to brainstorm, it's easier since i need to make all kind of arrows and maba3rif shou!

You're going to laugh, but it all depends on which keyboard or which pen for me.

For example if im using a pen and i don't feel comfortable/don't like the way it write then khalas i hate writing and i just don't feel like writing. And if its a keyboard thats not comfortable ehh yuck khalas i hate it too. I have to be comfortable.

Serious note now at first when they started telling us things had to be typed for school about 5-6 yrs back i hated it lol.

But today i much rather prefer keyboard, probably because im so used to it. In school we even take our tests on laptops in class and have to type out open response answers on our laptops all that pen writing doesn't exist anymore. I've learned to like it more because i do it faster than writing and gotta love that spell and grammar check. And when i mess up its just back space no cross outs or white out and erasing. Also the number of pages is much easier. Ye3ni THANK YOU technology

Bas the weird thing is I wonder how future generations are going to view using a "pen" it's really weird to think how things change. When i was in third grade everything we did was written. Now my sister comes home with assignments she has to type in third grade.

Where is this keyboard taking us ?

I prefer keyboard because it is much faster, more comfortable, my writing won't appear messy like my handwriting on paper, you can use spell check feature in Firefox to correct wrong spelling ..... and there are many other reasons....

I like to use the keyboard of course and especially that PC it's part of my job, but i always use the pen also and i like it so much.
Handwriting is unique to each person and this is why i like it, i feel that writing with a pen reveal our personality . Handwriting is an art......... I used to have a very good handwriting ....... and sometimes i am doing some exercices to write with my left hand. .
