So in other words, Baalbeck holds all factors to be in the 7 wonders:

Its old age
Its gigantic sizes
Its completeness
Its historical importance
The mystery that surrounds it

Neo-classical architectural designs in Europe have been directly inspired by Baalbeck, and Baalbeck's architecture has been applied all over Europe (especially its type of columns), so add to the list national + international cultural impact.

The main problem in that poll is that there's no basis of comparison, an F1 car will have far more complexities and "wonderful" things than a plain pyramid. That is why, we need to compare apples to apples.

Note: when I talk about Baalbeck, it's not just about the 6 columns, but rather about the whole complexe of the 3 temples and surroundings.
Hey CPL. As I explained to Ahmad, I'm not against Baalbek being inducted into the Seven Wonders of the World. But, you cannot include Baalbek without including the Pantheon. The Pantheon is the most revolutionary design of Roman engineering rivaled only by the Colosseum, as far as Roman monuments.
