Actually,

Washington DC is a great city to visit. It's designed to humble anyone who visits it. Plus, chapeau bas to the Americans who commemorate everything. The Capitol, with Lady Liberty adorning its dome, to the Washington Monument, to the new World War II Memorial to remember the victims, survivors, and veterans who sacrificed a lot to rid the world of tyrants. Remembering President Lincoln who united the country after civil war, to remembering Thomas Jefferson for writing the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Remembering the heroes of the Korean War and honoring those who died in Vietnam.

The biggest cast bronze statue of Iwo Jima is across the street from where I live. A memorial to commemorate every campaign the US Marine Corps endured. Lebanon is mentioned twice on it, first in 1958 and second in 1982-1984.

Don't forget the White House, Arlington National Cemetary, the Pentagon... I can go on forever describing places that only gives the American public pride and boosts in them their sense of patriotism. Only the American flag flies high. We should, we must, learn from them if we're going to preserve our newly found independence. Not doing should be considered a crime.

Beirut must have a shrine commemorating the civil war. Hiding it and pretending it never happened is not serving Lebanon's interest. There should be a shrine, a memorial, for the younger and future generations to remember the ugliness of what happened and in order not to fall into it again.

Most beautiful city:
If it's outside Lebanon it's hard to chose. I think the city wich I was most positivly surprised of is Tokyo. You would think yourself on Mars. EVERYTHING is different from anywhere else in the world:
Asian city but the cleannest city in the world (2nd is singapore also in Asia!! way cleaner than swiss).
Everybody is in a hurry but everybody is so kind.
Incredibly modern but incredibly traditionnal.
Incredibly rich but incredibly in recession... with almost no unemployement.
Yakuza everywhere but completly secure (most of them leave their keys in the car!)

Everywhere french restaurants!!
They play Sumo!!Can you believe it!!
You can eat living small fish!!
In the bus Everybody plays with playstation-like items from 3yold to 77y old
And so many many other astonishing things

Everytime i go to Japan I can't believe my eyes

for honey moon:
It was not a city for me. It was Polynesia (paradise!!). Since then, I've gone to Mauricius and Carribeans. Believe me when you've been living in Europe for many years, you give a great importance to the weather and you're fed up with crowds (I feel I'm getting old!!).
