| Lebanese Products: Let's Create Some Ideas! -
17th September 2007
Hi All,
I want to throw in some ideas about how we can come up with future products that would be "made in Lebanon".
Let us spend some imaginary times and put on the net what we feel can better enhance creativity in products from our country.
The following are from me... THE BEIRUT SPRING (Soap Bar & Body Wash) Isn't it true that there's no city like Beirut?
Everyone has their story to tell about their love for this unique city, and they are diverse feelings.
But if there's anything we can all feel the same about, it's that mysterious odor of Sit el Dunya.
Nobody knows what it is, but it's that vibe you get just by being there.
Before the summer, the best odor of Beirut comes from the spring...hence, the "Beirut Spring".
This name was chosen for the dawn of a new Lebanese era (Cedar Revolution).
I feel that this odor must be translated into a product somewhere, and what better way to express this fragrance but through soaps?
In the West, we got the "Irish Spring", "Zest" and "Camay" among others (that are exported to Lebanon, for example).
"Dial" and "Dove" are the best in qualities, while those I named above are the strongest in scents.
I think that Lebanon can produce a soap line of their own, some will be based on least strong scents (live Dove), while others will be strong (like Zest).
After all, soaps based on the scents of coconuts, limes, eau de rose as well as others can best represent the odor of Sit el Dunya.
The scents can be rosy in nature, like that of Beirut and Lebanon.
It's interesting, my sister once bought a Camay which was "made in Lebanon", and that line was better then the Camay "made in Britain" for example.
I can tell you about many other soaps (and even shampoos) from other nations that are made in Lebanon, and the scents are different then from the original country.
They are made in Lebanese industrial places, and it gives the best out of what Lebanon has to offer.
If we sell well through our own Camays and the like, why can't we do the same with our own companies from our own nation? WATER BOTTLES (in shape of bri7) Water bottles from Lebanon are among the best in the region.
But we can make better ones with healthier bases.
The plastic bottles, for example, can be made out of better elements which will not cause much harm to the human health.
Morever, how about creating plastic water bottles in the shape of a bri7?
This will give that Lebanese signature to it...
How about you? What would you wish in terms of Lebanese-made products for the future?
