1-Why not create a dedicated pre election thread where each candidate will post a max of 40 words writeup to argue his/her candidacy.the catch is before one can vote they must read the thread first.

2-It might also help if the FORUM MGT contact all members and intimate them of the election exercise in order to raise the % of participation.
