Is there any country in the world that allowes having sex in public areas where are tones of people passing by? I dont think so except maybe in uncivilised world like deep down in the jungle of the Amazon and I still doubt it.
I dont think Dubai is a retarted country but I think it is more an artificial country made for the Arab tourists and not for the western people, they shouldnt go there if they dont want to respect the culture of a country. Lebanon instead is a country for all kind of tourists from wherever you come from. I am pretty sure if you have sex on the beach in Lebanon, no one would give a ****, they would only look at you and think what kind of people are they lol. No one will call the authority except if there are kids around. | | | | | Registered Member

I salute Dubai for being civilized. | Leik, if a man in Europe wants to dress up like a girl, what do you have to do with that? Transvestites is not always exhibitionism (relating to "flaunting his stuff around"). If the person doesn't flaunt his things around, he is free to wear what he wants...
As I said, a person doing that in an Arab country is 10 times more retarded than someone doing that in Europe! | | | | | Registered Member

u guys r losing the point here..its wrong to have sex in public and condemnig it is not retarded even in dubai! ...halla2 roaming arround in a dress n hair coming out of ur chest is something else. not my business. criticizing cultures shouldn't be our business either. Dubai is a modern city, and that's a fact. regardless of ur personal opinion. | | | | | Registered Member

there is a proverb that says when in Rome do as the Romans do...so tourists no matter where they come from they should respect the country and its beliefs..and having sex on the beach is a great public offence which is not allowed all around the world..we don't live in a jungle where everything is allowed we live in society and should respect others ..there are many places where people can have their privacy and have sex ..but infront of people come on it's really out of the limits | | | | | Registered Member

now lets imagine for a while that the couple making it were Indians or Philipinos, would the penalty be the same as the British couple? for sure not, that is the double standard that we should be talking about and not if sex is ok on the beach or not.
Tayeb a British couple having a beer in a public beach mass'ala youghadou 3anha el nazar... ama iza kana hal 'couple' min jinsiiya 3arabiya fa wail el oumour wa jail/deportation, that is the hypocrisy we are talking about.
tayeb what will men think or do when in a supermarket like 'carrefour' they read next to the cashiers "Priority to woman" lollll tayeb ma 80% of the clients are woman, are men suppose to wait hours to pay their goods? if this is not pure discrimination then it is what? Well apparently they weren't even having sex... They were arrested for holding and kissing each other. Marhaba hadara... Dubai may be masked with being a (artificial shallow and no soul) cosmopolitan city, but underneath, it is still a retarded country with no respect for human rights or human dignity. The Lebanese and Westerners have it good there (except for single Lebanese women who are coerced into doing things that are worse than what the British couple were doing - what an irony!), but look at the labor camps Southeastern Asians live in, their working conditions, the safety records... It's abysmal and make people like Hitler and Stalin look like saints compared to what the laborers have to endure in Dubai... Quote:
(AP) A British couple on trial for allegedly having sex on a Dubai beach asked the judge on Tuesday to be allowed to leave the country.
Michelle Palmer and Vince Acors, speaking in low voices, asked the judge for a "quick ruling" that would let them return to Britain. But judge Hamad Abdul Jawad disregarded the request and scheduled another hearing for Sept. 9 to hear testimony from the policeman who arrested the couple.
Palmer, 36, and Acors, 34, were arrested in the early hours July 5 on a Dubai beach after they had been at a hotel party. They were later charged with having sex outside of marriage, public indecency and public drunkenness.
The case has highlighted the strong contrasts in the booming United Arab Emirates, particularly Dubai. The city has a much more freewheeling attitude than other places in the Gulf, with cash flowing from oil and finance and a huge expatriate population. But the case is a reminder that it remains a conservative Arab nation underneath.
Legal experts say the couple could face up to two years in prison if convicted. The case raised a media storm here, and partway through Tuesday's session the judge ordered journalists out of the courtroom.
"I hope they will not get any penalty, God willing," the couple's Dubai-based lawyer, Hassan Matter, told The Associated Press after the session.
He said medical examinations of Palmer after the arrest "prove she did not have sex," though he did not elaborate. He also dismissed one witness who told the court he saw the couple having sex, saying the witness was far away and it was nighttime.
Palmer, a former employee of a Dubai-based publishing firm, told the court during an August session that she and Acors, a tourist visiting Dubai, were "hugging and kissing" but did not have sex.
Public display of affection, such as touching, kissing or hugging, is illegal in Dubai and couples - particularly if not married - can be detained by police for indecency.
In July, a few days after the British couple was detained, Dubai police announced it has arrested 79 people, mostly tourists, for topless sunbathing, nudity and other acts authorities deemed indecent.

Its this labeling of cultures and civilizations that i truly despise. It stems out of utter ignorance and paralleled arrogance. Who in diddly squat are you to proclaim that dubai has a retarted and uncivilized culture? I can point out a million things in ur culture and customs that i deem inferior to theirs. And blatantly call uncivilized. This uncivilized/civilized business has been instilled in the world by Europe and later on the U.S, to divide the world and to give validity to their illegal invasions. | | | | | | |
