I hope you're not implying that there is a hypocritically ironic parallel between the evil Pagans (who anthropomorphized the roles of God here on earth) and modern-day religionists (who anthropomorphically inherit the judgemental and punitive role of God here on earth).

Because obviously, there is no symmetry whatsoever.

actually lady_f, we are all born atheists.. we happen to be introduced to the god idea later on! so the ones who "encounter something to make them so" are definetly not the atheists ;)

PS: you quoted the wrong post btw!

"There is no atheist in a foxhole", whether he was raised in a religious background, or not. He'll remember and know God when he stares death right between the eyes. Atheists are free to live like everyone else, but one thing an Atheist can never have is peace of mind, especially when those old white hairs start to creep out.

God-forbid, is that the kind of world you want to live in?

Afterall, the truth is on our side whilst falsehood is on theirs.

God-willing, we shall speak unto them the language of the heavens.
I actually had to read this about three times before I understood that you were dead serious.
Sir, this borders on the illegal where you live!!!!!

The mercy of stoning and lashing, are you kidding me??
Freedom of religion and speech are demonic relishes!!!!!!!!!!!
From which nightmare did you pop out of?

By the same token, this is my wish list for you:
1. One day, you will be accused by four malicious men of adultery, and because you live in a place where you are guilty until proven innocent, you will be stoned to death. But ofcourse, to make a lesson of you, the religious mutawa' will order 200 lashes before the stoning just for the heck of it.

2. For the woman you hold most sacred to you, she will suffer daily beatings and humiliation, and you can do nothing about it, because you believe in a society where male gender is superior to that of women.

3. That you will live in a country, where just to think of performing your religious duties will land you in prison and if you are lucky, they will deport you from this country without even collecting your personal belongings.

I lived in a place like this, and I think you know where it is. It is far far from North America.
Oh by the way, the truth does not belong to anybody, and I looooooooooove to live in demonic -like relishes.
This post really made me angry.

You cannot read our conscience. So stop pretending to.

Its like saying 'you really like chocolate vs. vanilla ice cream...you just know you love the taste deep down....you know you dont like chocolate.'

I mean, seriously.

Dude, calm down. I was being sarcastic. Especially with the moral-reverse of 'merciful stoning' vs. the 'immorality of human rights' (hint hint).

I like atheists, they’re good hardworking citizens; just a little flat-chested when it comes to spirituality. May need an enhancement to fix their lack of growth.
