Taiwan Men's Junior NT lost to Lebanon 83-60 in the bronze medal game of Asian Junior Men's Championship and finished for 4th place in the tournament, failing to win a ticket to the 2007 World Jnuior Men's Championship in Vancouver, Canada.

Still, it's the best finish for Taiwan in Asian Junior Men since 2000, when it won bronze.

Taiwan lost to South Korea 72-66 in the semifinal game Friday night. China beat Lebanon 119-66 in the other semi.

this is really great for our national team

Default Lebanon to the Junior World Championship ( a new historical achievement ) - 11th September 2006

Sep. 9, 2006 - by Asia-Basket Lebanon

The Lebanese Junior National Team proved once again that Lebanese Basketball is one of the leaders in Asia , Lebanon after managing to qualify two consecutive for the Men World Championship managed to secure a place in the World Junior Championship for next year which will be held in Vancouver - Canada in July 200 with the participation of 16 countries from throughout the world.

Lebanon had a good tournament in the Asian Junior Championship which was held in China from September 1 to 9 , 2006 by winning 6 out of 8 games played , in the first round against Malaysia(117-29) , Kuwait (76-63) , Thailand (102-32), and in the second round against Iran (77-70) , Japan ( 100-65) , Lebanon faced its 1st defeat fro the past 18 months against Korea (72-80) in this game Lebanese team missed its captain and leader Rodrigue Akl who had an injury in the last 2 minutes against Iran.

In the semi Final Lebanon’s hopes were too small against the mighty Chinese team especially with the injury of Akl and Mohamad Hmadar who injured his ankle in the first quarter Lebanon lost the game on a big margin by making the bench playing the game and resting the key players for the 3rd & 4th positioning decisive game .

In the last game against Chinese Taipei who had lost against Korea in the second semi Final Lebanon cruised into an easy and comfortable win at the score of 83-60 , by this win the Lebanese Junior Team qualified to the Junior World Championship together with China and Korea.Rodrigue Akl was the best player in the team with 18pts ,7rebs,5stl.

Once again a new chapter is opened in the Lebanese Basketball by making historical steps (winning two game in the world championship and qualifying to the Junior World Championship ) , this step proved that Lebanese Basketball have its base from grass routes and have a good development plan to make the game develop more by time.

it was easy road.....

only teams to be close of us were korea(lost 8 points)...iran(won 7 points)...

other matches involved high difference between us and the other team....

ofcourse china is exception...
