Champville:Elie Estephan,Samer Mcharref,Ghaleb rida,Hussein Lakiss,Carle Sarkis,Nadim hawé,Roudy Faraj,Mario Abboud,Joe Abi Mrad,Ray Dagher,Khalil Aoun,Vincent khoury (Imports:Kevin jolley,Jarred Merril).
Apart Kevin jolley, ( & at another level Ghaleb rida) i don't see big key players that can get a trophee.
Maybe i don't know the other players coz it has been 3 years that i haven't really followed the league since i live abroad, but i don't see a lot of key players in this current roster. | | | | | Registered Member

Elie Estephan......great player 25 points against Antranik
Samer....not bad...average
Galeb....great and better than Kevin Jolley by the way
Hassan Lakis....superrrr....watch him and see
Karl Sarkis....a bit selfish, but can be a leader.....not consistent, but not bad
Nadim Hawi: oh well he's an addition at least...pretty bad player
Roudy Farraj.....wwwwwwwwwwwwwwoooooowwwwwwwww watch this guy
Mario: see above, potential to be the top center/pf in Lebanon
Joe: good young player
the rest: dont know
foreigners: good level
so yeah Champville can surprise many people | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

Great to see a lot of Champville fans around here, I hope that a lot of you will attend the games, specialy the one today against Sagesse.
I will make a quick review of the squad for those who don't know the players, based on the few friendly and on the 1st game against Antranik.
PG - Karl Sarkis : Karl is Coach Sarkis son, he is considered by some to play because his dad is the coach, thats might be true, but Karl improved into a very good player lately, he have the guts to do things other players don't dare to, and he is not affraid of taking the responsability ( his decisive basket against Antranik), this season he is passing the ball more than last year.
PG - Hussein Lakiss : He can be considered Karl back up, can play the SG to, but there is a lot of players in the spot, Hussein is one of the great shooter of the team, in a friendly against Riyadi he scored 5 out of 6 3pts in the last quarter of the game.
SG - Elie Stephan : Elie used to play with sagesse youth team 3 years ago, he was considered one of the top prospect of the country, he then went to the USA and played 2 years in the JUCO league. Coach Sarkiss realy wanted him in his team for this season and made everything to get him. And after his first game where he scored 25 pt and 5 3pts, Sarkis seems to have made a good decision. Elie is a very good all around player, who can play offense and defence. A great add on for the team, and he will surely make the Lebanese NT is he can continue on this level this season.
SG - Rudy Farraj : Rudy was a rookie last year, I hope sarkis will give him his chance this year. Rudy was the best lebanese scorer in the U19 world championship that we played this summer without even being a starter. Not only he can score, run the floor, Rudy is one of the best defender we can have in a team. In a preseason game against Riyadi, he stealed like 7 or 8 balls. He played so well, that by the end of the game Fouad Abou Chacra, made Ismail Ahmad guard him for the last quarter of the game. Rudy is a great assest for the team.
SF - Ghaleb Rida : Ghaleb is the only "known" player of the squad, he missed last season because of injury. If he can stay healty he will help Champville reach there objectives this season. He is playing well in practice, I only hope he will not get injured.
SF - Samer Mechref : Samer was discovered by Sarkis while he was playing in 3rd division team Byblos, he recruited him last year. It is his second season with the team, he is a very good back up player, with great upsides, he can help the team anytime he come out of the bench.
SF/PF - Ray Dagher : Ray used to play with Bluestars last year, he didn't had a major role, he is a very atheletic player.
PF/C -Nadim Hawi : A good C, not very technic but can do the stuff under the rim, I personaly prefer to have such players than to have "roy samaha" like players.
PF - Mario Abboud : A pure Power Forward, good peremiter shot, and huge leap, Mario is one if not the best PF in Lebanon.
PF/C - Joe Abi Mrad : I think Joe can be the surprise of the season, he was in the U19 squad who played the World Championship, and his level is only getting higher day after day.
SF-PF Kevin Jolley : Kevin was the star of Antonines last year, despite his great season Antonines got relegated to 2nd division. Kevin is a good all around player, not the best technical player but he play with his heart and hate to loose. It very handy to have a player like him in a team.
SG-SF-PF-C Jarred Merril : New import in the League, he mage a huge impression in last year Arab Cup with his Saudi team. Jarred is what you can call a versatile player, he can play almost every position on the floor. Has a lot of technic, can pass, shoot handle the ball. He can be compared to Ismail Ahmad. But his defence is very weak.
The two imports are good, but I presonaly think after seeing some friendly and the 1st game that we could use a pure C.
Rookies:
Khalil Aoun
Vincent khoury

Ralf Sarkis | Well said XO157.
Vincent khoury is a rookie player(17 years) and he is very promising,he joined the NT U17 under Rizakallah Zalaoum coaching.
Champville players are young in majority, the key player today will be Ghaleb Rida if he failed to lead his team i doubt CV can win.
Jerrid Merril is a little bit selfish,he must pass the ball more.Kevin Jollley really he did a great job against Antranik, scoring points, catching rebounds,ya3neh offensively and deffensively he was great.
The negative sides in CV,can be define in 2 points:the first, champville missed a big guy,Kevin and mario cant play as a real centers,it will effect surely.
The other one,the PG position with my respect to both Karl and Hassan Lakiss, these 2 players are shooters more than PGs,they don't have a real experience in leading a team.
Anywayz i wish a good luck for Champville,Coach Sarkis is a great coach,and he's the man of these hard games. | | | | | Registered Member
