Valencia will take over Barcelona mate.

The new circuit will be Singapore, and they might add india in 2009.

They might cancel the french GP next year, so adding singapore in this case wont make a difference, the GP # per season will still be the same in 2008

Russia won't happen and Dubai is on hold, the track was not approved last time the FIA checked it.

As i know, there are some problems with Bernie Ecclestone, not with the track itself...more likely money problems etc...

1- Not necessarily in Downtown, chou allah khala2 el downtown w kasar el elib? It could in any beautiful place, something that shows Lebanon's pride.

2- It costs yeah, but it's an investment that will turn 10000% profit on the long run. Lebanese politicians only look at what will happen 5 minutes from now, and chatrin yech7ado in Paris 1 2 3. Why not invest properly the money?

3- Concerning the security issue, well first Lebanon's security is ONLY jeopardized by Israel, which shows how Israel's intentions against Lebanon are not just for the physical damage, but also for the long term damage against all kind of big investment. And if WE don't work on that, who will? chou natrin ya jame3a? You don't build a ring for F1, you build a ring, and then you submit it to F1. And you can use it for many other different racing competitions.

4- Someone should take a non-governmental initiative, and why not from even forum members from here?

I talked about DT because the track that one of the members posted is meant to be in DT.

About security, i don't think fath al islam, ansar etc... are israelites

As for non-governmental initiative, china had to use 5 billion dollars to build the track and make it pass the FIA tests, you think any non-governmental initiative will have a chance in making this dream come true?

Kif ya3neh, chou dakhal fat7 el islam? You were talking about Russian Grand Prix and Chinese grand prix? Are those safer than Lebanon in that context? When I talk about security, I'm talking of something as devastating as Israel, that touches Lebanon on all scales. Let's not go into politics. Lebanon is safe as long as we know how to protect it, chou hal 7ejjeh, enno yi it's not safe we can't do anything.

If China paid 5 billion dollars, that doesn't mean that you need 5 billion dollars to have a decent track. Check the costs of each track and tell me, tell me especially about Hungaroring that was built in 1985 in the Communist block, did it cost 5 billion dollars too?

Ya3neh you killed the initiative before it started, w bet oulo bedkoun tebno watan.

In the end, everything falls back on our shoulders, and only WE can make anything happen in Lebanon. 7aj natrin.

Dude do you know why Imola was dumped, magnycour, hockenheim etc...?

For FIA the european tracks are third world countries tracks, they want safe tracks with lots of money, not 100 million worth track!
